This is perhaps the best depiction I've seen of the *character* of shapiness which constitutes my conscious thought… I was struck by this particular vid because of just how well it evokes my experience of the *density* of mechanistic variance. Like, the number of “instances” of geometry on screen at a given frame and in my mental FoV during (particularly deft) mental work are about the same order of magnitude. It's doubly striking in the way it's achieved with largely only a few basic primitives (rotation, translation, &c.) combined to create incredibly complex global-structure that preserves intuitively-legible local structure… like, there is a sense for which any specific representation controlled with just a single term can be sort of intuitively apprehended immediately… there isn't any *perceptual* isntrumentation required, only *cognitive*. The macro-structure my mind then goes on to construct with those primitives is itself a rich network that really does vibe texturally as depicted in the vid — though, in my mind, possesses on average more inter-connective structure. Where the vid will show like 3–5 unrelated graphs at a time, each composed of perhaps 3–5 generative terms… (“3–5” is suspiciously suggestive of subitization involvement…?) Re “legibility”, Legible to myself, anyway. The mental vista I am describing are not able to be specified in any formal language… they are still thoughts, ethereal & dissolute… Anyway, I experience this feature (the legibility) as integral to retaining my capacity to manipulate these geometric Forms, i.e., “to think” — for this is literally what I mean when I say “I am thinking about xyz”: I am experientially possessing & processing geometric evolution of various curves, points, spaces, textures each with their own intuited semantic correspondence… Now, in my mind the math is always unitless. But, it does have semantic load… all the half-hearted editing above has me kinda running out of steam… this is why I need to go back to this sort of channeled phenomenological exploration… somewhere else. Sadly, as unpopular as this type of content is here, it is perhaps the most syntonic environment to such expression to which I have current access… so, you will have to deal. Do I want to say anything about the character of the semantic loading of the geometry in my experience… meh. I had some other things I was gonna just ping but i forgor. next time I offer online my opinion on someone's psychotype who isn't paying me to do so, shoot me in the face. the other day at a psychotype meetup an organizer introduced me literally “AS AN EXPERT TYPIST”, talked about how she was not very familiar with enneagram, then said some things that were like words lifted directly from an enneagram book for her type. I pointed this out because I thought she would enjoy it, and she got irritated I wasn't reflecting back her self-concept to her in psychotypological language she felt sufficiently affirmative every time it's the same strings of words in defense “but the quiz said” “but the book said” “but my sister said” “you've only seen part of me; I'm actually really different in a different social context / stage of life / outfit / whatever” or, my personal favorite, “I don't know much about this system, but I'm 100% confident I'm xyz” I'm bitter but also it's whatever. I understand. I've wept over the “realization” I was MULTIPLE types I turned out to ABSOLUTELY not be. just really fucking lonely to be legitimately interested in the humanistic beauty of the theory, but to be consistently devalued (& vilified shortly thereafter) if I don't cooperate as a puppet of their shallow ego game. all of this is, of course, my own shallow ego game. yes, you're very clever. at some point I need to stop crushing my emotional reaction for the sake of intellectual empathy though because I don't have any other avenue for its expression & it FUCKING SUCKS reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
