How to design a Twitter banner

  1. Pick a template that matches your archetype (founder, agency, indie, creator, course seller).
  2. Edit the headline and subhead. Keep important text in the top half so the avatar circle does not cover it.
  3. Upload your avatar and click "Match colors to my avatar" if you want a one-click brand match.
  4. Toggle the avatar mask preview to verify your text stays clear of the profile picture circle.
  5. Click Download. The PNG saves at 1500x500 (or 2x / 4x retina) with no watermark.

Tip: keep faces and key wording inside a 1300x300 safe zone in the centre of the canvas. Mobile X crops the outer ~100 px on each side and the bottom 200 px is partly covered by the avatar gutter.

Frequently asked questions

About Twitter / X banner sizing, design, and download.

X / Twitter headers display at 1500x500 pixels (3:1 aspect ratio). The platform serves the same image at smaller sizes on mobile, so the 1500x500 version reads sharply on every device. This generator exports at exactly 1500x500 by default, or 2x and 4x for retina screens.
