X / Twitter headers display at 1500x500 pixels (3:1 aspect ratio). The platform serves the same image at smaller sizes on mobile, so the 1500x500 version reads sharply on every device. This generator exports at exactly 1500x500 by default, or 2x and 4x for retina screens.

What part of the banner does my profile picture cover?

The avatar circle sits roughly in the bottom third of the banner, anchored to the left on desktop and centered on mobile. The bottom 50 px of the banner is also covered by the profile gutter on most layouts. Toggle the "avatar mask preview" in the editor to see exactly where the circle lands before exporting.

Can I match my banner to my avatar's colors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upload an avatar in the editor, then click "Match colors to my avatar." The page reads the dominant and accent colors from the image and applies them to the banner background and text. You can still tweak each color manually after the auto-pick.

What font does Twitter use for banners?

Accepted Answer

X uses a custom font called Chirp, which is not licensed for third-party use. This generator uses Inter as a close visual substitute; Inter is the most common free alternative across professional design tools. The exported banner labels itself as "Twitter-style," not as an exact reproduction of X's interface.

Will my banner look the same on mobile and desktop?

X crops banners differently on mobile and desktop. The 1500x500 export is the canonical size. Keep important text and faces away from the bottom 200 px (where the avatar lands) and away from the outer 100 px on each side (where mobile crops more aggressively). The editor's avatar mask preview helps you avoid both pitfalls.

Can I upload my own background image instead of using a template?

Not on this page yet. The current templates use solid colors and gradients. If you have a custom photo backdrop, upload it as your avatar to capture the colors, generate a matching banner, then composite the photo in your image editor. A custom-photo upload is on the roadmap.

Does the export work for X Premium accounts and verified accounts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The banner is a static image. X displays it the same way regardless of Premium status, verified status, or follower count. The verified badge sits next to your name on profile, not on the banner itself, so no banner-side adjustment is needed.
