Alen sells long-term freedom like it’s a lifestyle class, but with all the swearing you’d expect from someone who learned manifestation theory from a hardware store, equal parts actionable and likely covered in a 'do not try this at tax time' disclaimer.

Built a profitable audience and marketing newsletter from scratch, grew to 21k+ followers, and scored a viral tweet that cracked ~340k views, plus enough property projects to keep a crew busy.

To build independent wealth and influence by turning contrarian insights into products, audiences, and systems that let him live on his own terms and teach others to do the same. He aims to convert curiosity about the universe into clear strategies that produce real money and freedom.

Values independence, competence, and courage over approval; believes skills and relentless execution matter more than credentials or compliments. He trusts long-term playbooks, blunt honesty, and the idea that clarity and conviction attract an audience faster than politeness.

Unapologetic, memorable voice; strong monetization instincts (newsletter + internet business); ability to distill big ideas into short, shareable lines; patient, long-term mindset that keeps him building rather than chasing short wins.

Polarizing tone can alienate potential followers outside his niche; bluntness sometimes reads as abrasive rather than insightful; occasional repetition of the same motifs can make content feel predictable.

To grow on X: 1) Turn your best newsletter pieces into multi-tweet threads with clear hooks and numbered steps; 2) Pin a few different formats (viral thread, newsletter CTA, short video) and rotate; 3) Reply publicly to superfans and quote-retweet big replies to amplify community signal; 4) Use short video clips (30, 60s) of you explaining a single idea, native video hits the algorithm; 5) Host occasional Spaces to convert followers into loyal fans and collect content for threads; 6) Collaborate with complementary creators and do co-threads or quote chains to tap new audiences; 7) A/B test CTAs to the newsletter and use paid boosts sparingly on your highest-performing tweets; 8) Lean into a repeatable series (e.g., 'Sunday Long-Game Notes') so new followers know what to expect.

Fun fact: One of Alen's tweets (“fuck you skills…” thread) went viral, ~340k views and 7.9k likes, proving his blunt style sells. He runs what he calls the "best marketing newsletter," has ~21k followers, owns multiple houses (crew on site), and has tweeted nearly 2,900 times, so he’s part strategist, part home-renovation flex.

Here's why smart copywriters use mental binds in their copy. So when you came up as a copywriter, you most likely followed the same path as everyone else. You first discover it and go, holy shit, this is the greatest thing ever! I can write a bunch of words, and then strangers somewhere else read my words, and then they pull out their credit card and give me money. Magick is real. And then, as you went on you got deeper and deeper into the craft. First, the headlines, then the openings, then the story arcs, then the big ideas, then the concepts, then the mechanisms, then the close, and then the guarantee. And then you got to the end of the road and stayed there for a while, then something happens where you can start to break the rules and re-create them, so you can put a mini close into the opening to get them to read further, you can invert the mechanism, you learn to write blind copy, so on and so forth... ...And then you reach a level where you know there's more, but not sure what, and that's the level most never cross, because you don't know what you don't know. So here's something you'll find on that level. You'll find mental binds. Mental binds are phrases that lock the mind into a thought, feeling, and then action, because if they don't, they have to admit they are not an ideal version of themselves; it forces a position of admission that doesn't make them feel very good. It's the final checkmate of copy. Here's one I used recently: "Here's why smart people choose to ________ intead of ________". Then you lay out all the reasons why "smart" people do that, which implies if they do not, they're not very smart. It's the oh shit moment in the subconscious because of course, they're smart. Very casual, very under the radar, VERY powerful. Another one I used on parenting offer about a year ago was a mental bind stack, which went something along the lines of: ------- "You wouldn't have made it this far if you didn't care about your kids... ...And we both know you want the absolute best for them... ...And we both know that if you knew how to _________ that you wouldn't be here, and that's why this is the turning point in your journey as a parent where you truly determien if you're going to continue being a great parent or just an average parent... ...A parent who's children _________ or a parent who's children _________... ...A parent who's children _________ or a parent who's children _________... A parent who's children _________ or a parent who's children _________. We both know the answer to that, afterall, you are a great parent and that's why smart parents always _________ instead of _________, because _________... ------- You see how that works? It pulls you in, locks you in, and makes you realize that if you don't do that, you're not who you thought you were... ...It plays on the identity level, which is the level of the psyche that rules the rest. And now, you knowing how these mental binds work in copy, you too can use it to rule the rest of the offerers in your market. Because remember, only a few who mastered copywriting know they even exist. Have a great Wednesday, Alen

I've been in this game long enough to be able to promise you one thing... ...and that one thing is that if you play the game long enough, you'll get your turn, you'll get your wins, and you'll get your millions. Most think that the way the game works is that you just play the game, you'll have these incremental increases in success and income, a few dollars more here and there over and over again. Kinda, sorta like how it works "in the real world". Doesn't work like that with what we do. The way it works is you'll work your ass off for 6-12 months, nothing works, feels like pulling teeth, then all of a sudden you're at 10-15k a month... ...Phew, "I've made it,"... ...Then, you think, bam...now it's going to go up and up, maybe 20k a month, 25k a month, 30k? Nah...you'll be stuck for another 6 or so months, then go from 10k-15k a month to 50k a month... ...Life's good, 50k a month, only going to get better from here on out...while true... ...Then you'll be stuck there for a year or so, then you'll see a huge jump to around $250k a month, and just when you think you got it down pat... ...You'll get stuck again for 6-18 months, then pop off to $500k - $1m a month. Knowing that these "stuck periods" exist, the key is to just put your head down and keep going and keep an eye out for what's NOT working instead of what is working. What's not working is what's holding you back from making those big jumps. Once you figure out what's not working, you'll know what's holding you back, you'll overcome it, then you'll have these huge jumps in success and income. Knowing the game is non-linear is one of the keys to get to the top, so don't stress too much about what level you're stuck at, keep going and know that your big jump is right around the corner. This is how it was for me, and everyone else I who made it to the top of the game, and that's how it's going to be for you as well. I look forward to seeing you at the top because we're holding your spot for you 🙏 Have a good Saturday, - Alen

What's really holding you back from making millions. One of the biggest things that holds people back from making more money is that subconsciously, they know that in order to get more money, they have to take on more responsibility. More money --> more responsibility --> less freedom --> what's the point of getting more money if you're not free to enjoy it? See how that works and locks you up? So what most do is try to look for systems, methods, formulas, business models and everything else to break this chain of "responsibility"... ...But it never works, because they don't understand what responsibility really is and how it works in the mind. You see, the word itself, responsibility, is two words combined into one. Response and ability, hence responsibility. It just means your ability to respond, nothing more, nothing less. So, as you accumulate more and more success, more and more money and more and more wealth... ...Why would you not have the ability to respond to situations? And we can even take that a step further and conclude that you would have more money, more resources, and more capability to respond to situations. So why would you not be able to respond? Why would you not have the ability to respond? Why would you not be able to take on more and more and more "responsibility"? And why would that limit your freedom or anything in the first place? If anything, as your ability to respond grows, so do your options, choices, and freedom. This is the key to unlocking a level that's been holding you back from going further than you have been. Have a great Sunday, Alen

One day I'm going to write a book about copy, and it'll be studied and read for a 100 years, but until then... ...I'm going to write and share the most powerful psychological tools in marketing here that I'll include in that book, so with that in mind... You know what I love about copy... ...How when you write it, there is that one thing that gets you, that won't let go, that holds tight and grips and keeps you glued to it... ...Leaving isn't an option, because if you leave, you've admitted to being wrong, you've failed, and there's no other way to go than through... ...Through the checkout page. Most copywriters take a good decade of writing copy before they can reach this level where they can write intricate psychological hooks that compel people to take action... ...Or rather, compel them to compel themselves, and that's really the magic in copy... ...We're never convincing them of anything; we're merely convincing them to convince themselves. And one of my favorite structures to insert in copy is to use psychological binds, a series of thoughts that they can not disagree with... ...Because if they disagree with them, they disagree with themselves. There are many, but one of my favorites is the ones that speak to the ego. The "you're smart enough to" is one of the more powerful ones and I recently used it on a close for an offer selling marketing services to attorneys. I closed the offer with this: ===== "Now, the only question is... ...are you going to do this now, or are you going to do this a year from now? And are you going to do it only once you realize how much money — how much opportunity — you've lost? Look, you’re not dumb, you're smart. After all, you went to law school. You got where you are because you’re smart. You’re smart enough to see when something is going to work for you. You’re smart enough to recognize when something makes sense. You’re smart enough to know what you know, and most importantly, you’re smart enough to know what you don’t know. And we both know you’re smart enough to know there’s no risk — that's why it’s a free consultation — where we'll show you what you don’t know, what you’re missing, and what’s going to take your firm from being just another option in the city… ...to being the dominant firm — the authority, the benchmark, the standard everyone else measures themselves against... ...The one that never chases clients, but rather has everyone chasing them... ...The firm that chooses only the best cases, instead of taking what they can get. You were smart enough to get to this level, but being smart enough to know what you don't know is what's going to take you to the next level... ...The only thing standing between you and being #1 is what you'll discover on this free call". ===== Notice how the ego glows and glows, and if they reject this, well... ...What do they have to admit? They're not smart, and what's the opposite of smart? Dumb, stupid, ignorant — it's not a great feeling, hence, notice how I put that up there "You're not dumb". Now that you know these mental binds work well, you're smart enough to start using them everywhere in your copy. See what I just did there? Have a great Tuesday, Alen

No more begging. No more hoping. No more searching. No more thinking about where the next client is coming from, and no more thinking about where you can hire the best people. No more giving "the middlemen" of the game 10-25% just for connecting you. I've always hated that with a passion, and it's not fair for them to take 10-25% of your hard work. I've been in this game a long time, 22 years to be exact, and for quite some years, I left the game to go on a journey alone, running offers, webinars, and everything else, making great money, doing very little… ...Along that timeline, traveling the world, enjoying life, only being in contact with a handful of old friends in the game. When I came back to the industry in 2018 to reconnect with everyone, I saw something that grew far beyond what I remember and was proud to see so many new fresh faces, gurus, and experts… ...And even though the industry was growing and buzzing, something was missing, and that was the magic I personally experienced when I came in the game… ...A special place where you could get help without paying for it… ...Where someone would lift you up without you having to have status. ...And where strangers became friends and supported each other without ulterior financial motives. These days, just about everywhere you turn, you can get all that and more, so long as you are willing to pay for it. Most friends are friendly strangers and getting a hand up only happens if you're well-connected and networked. I tell you, I miss the old industry, where the magic lived. So when I came back, my mission wasn't to make money to keep for myself, it was to make money and reinvest in this industry and game that I grew up in, that changed my life and that gave me everything I could ever want. I decided to take all the money we make from NHB and reinvest it back in the industry, with a mission that we make money to create more value for our people, and that's exactly what we did. The work is a lot more difficult than you can imagine. I work on average 12-hour days, about 6 days a week. For about 4-5 months, I didn't take a weekend off at all, and I haven't had a vacation in 4 years. But when you love something, you give it your all. And that's why we're investing and developing 5 massive projects for you guys to give you everything you could ever need to succeed, without you having to pay for it. This here is a screenshot of the project we've built, it's fully done and the UI / UX is being adapted now. It's a place where you can hire the best marketers in the world, get hired by the best companies in the world and offer your services to everyone. Without having to spend days stalking various Facebook groups, networking or kissing ass to people you don't really like or care for, only in hopes they'll refer you. You'll be able to find copywriters, salespeople, operations, media buyers, support staff and everything you can imagine. It's for business owners, agencies and freelancers, it's for all of you. It's 100% free. You can't pay for it, even if you want to. We don't take any payments on it, not a dollar. We're funding it all through the revenue we generate from Nothing Held Back and it's one of our gifts to you. Anyone can use it to help their people get jobs, clients, or hire. Even if they compete with us, we consider them our brothers and sisters in the game as we're all in this together. The only thing we ask for is that you use it, spread the word and invite others to use it, so together, we can bring back the magic in the game. We're going to open doors to this soon, along with the NHB platform and everything else we've been quietly working on for you. This industry deserves a revolution, and we're creating it. Drop something in the comment box below so that the algo sets this post on fire and spreads it to everyone. All for love of the game,

Your future creates your present. You'll notice some of my posts are mindset, others spiritual, and most marketing-related, and once in a while, I'll throw in a political curveball into the mix, which always gets interesting. One thing I've always wanted to do is share other things that I know of, yet never talk about, that go far beyond marketing. It's a mix of mindset, spirituality, and business, all fused into one. There is a phrase, which I'm sure you've heard of, known as "abracadabra", often used in various magical scenes in TV shows and movies, yet the original phrase comes from Hebrew, and is "Avra k'davra), and is typically written as אברא כדברא. It translates to "I will create as I speak". This phrase is often linked to the idea of creation through words, echoing the Genesis narrative where God creates the world through speech. So today, while I'm enjoying this delicious cup of coffee, I'm going to go into the thought that we create as we speak. In the world of "commercial self-help," a whole lot of good-sounding stuff gets thrown around that simply doesn't work. Otherwise, just about everyone who's into self-help would be able to help themselves and succeed, and we all know most don't. And the reason is that they get quite a lot of stuff wrong or simply backwards. Never looking beyond if it's real or not, becuase afterall, if it sells and makes them money, who cares if it's real, if it works or not. One thought that's often used is that "your present creates your future", while technically true, is wrong. Because it's missing the causal factors of the present, what causes the present to morph, change, and become what we want it to be. And that something is that your future actually creates your present. Then and only then does your present create your future, but in reality, your future creates the present only to create itself; otherwise, it could not create itself. The mind has three areas it can construct reality: The past, the present and the future, yet only one can create current reality, which is the present, which is created by the future and supported by the past. That's a doozy, isn't it? So let's dig a little deeper. Say, you're working on something, and that something has various outcomes, mostly, it'll succeed or it'll fail, it'll be easy, or it'll be hard, it'll be fun or it'll suck. All these outcomes are in the future. What you think is going to happen loops back to the present, and you start expanding that current thought loop and now it's creating that future, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Because, *drumroll*, there is no future, it's just another part of your mind, thinking that it's a future, which is really in the NOW, influencing the behavioral now that we have. We have absolutely no idea what's going to happen in the future, becuse we have so little control of it, but the mind has to keep us safe, so it conjures up everything. These future thoughts determine the behavior of today which creates the future, and it loops around. The role of the past is to support of what we're capable of due to evidence in the past. So now that we have this out of the way, we must look into the language of the future. All needs and wants are in the future, and they are all loaded with pre-suppositions, you can't say something, without pre-supposing it. You say "John is going to come over", you pre-supposed a whole lot of stuff, that John has the ability to come over. Language can't exist without presuppostiions. And as such, lets look at the language of the future, where you yourself want to or need to make a million dollars. "I need to make a million dollars" or "I want to make a million dollars" The need or want is in the future, if you didn't want it or need it, you'd have it in the present, so it's in the future. Let's look at what this future-based language does to the now, which affects our behavior, once again, creating the present. You can say something, and it can mean something. "I need a million dollars", the conscious mind will think this means you just need it to buy a bunch of stuff, which is what we are aware of, but what we are not aware of is how meaning in time works. That's why the most important of all is the meaning in time. What does it mean NOW, what does it mean in the PAST? As you say, “I need to make a million dollars” or “I want to make a million dollars”. Note: If you made a million already, it's slightly different, but if you never did, it's very limiting. If you say “I need to make a million dollars”, what you are really saying is that you don’t have a million dollars, and when you say that you don’t have a million dollars, what you are really saying is you don’t have the skills to make a million dollars OR your skills are not good enough to make a million dollars OR that you are not worthy of making a million dollars, and if you don’t have the skills, are good enough or worthy to make a million dollars, then who are you? Then it says, you are someone who can’t do it, because (insert of who you were in the past). See how that works? The future creates the present, and it's supported by the past. Two create one. The mother is the past, the father is the future, and you are the present. The solution to this is quite simple, and yes, you will sound crazy to yourself for the first few weeks as you try it. Just speak everything in the present tense. Instead of saying "I need to make a million dollars", say "I make a million dollars a year, and I'm actively doing it now". Ohh man, your mind will fight you on this one, because you've been programming it wrong for so long. Or if you speak of the future, make sure you speak it in such a way that creates the correct present for you. And I want you to think about this... ...Isn't it true that before we can travel on the road to a destination, the road has to be created in the first place? The future thoughts are the road being created in real time, so you can travel to it. If you guys dig this sort of stuff, let me know and I'll gladly share it... ...I've mastered marketing years ago, and this sort of stuff is where I dwell most of my time. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see more of this type of stuff. - Alen

Every copywriter should have a stack of lines they use in their copy... ...Lines that just make the prospect go, damn...that makes sense. ...Lines that make them go, didn't think of that. ...Lines that get them to see the world differently, through your lens... ...Where what was once impossible is now possible, but not only possible, but attainable, and makes them feel that they can do it too. Lines that cause massive change within them that empower, awaken them, and give them permission to move forward. I call these "casual copy lines" and I've shared a few here before, and here's another one I love to use... "Why couldn't you?" And what I love to do is take this line and preface it with logic that's impossible to argue with. So it goes something like this: "If others are making millions with ___________, why couldn't you do it too? If you had the same resources, knowledge and know-how?... ...Why couldn't you build a business? ...Why couldn't you make millions? ...Why couldn't you do it too? If you had everything that allowed them to do it, what would stop you from doing it too?" These lines and copy structure completely remove doubt, limitations, and excuses; it can't be argued with, because it's true. Using this structure, we can easily use it in other markets, here are a few examples of how it turns out: ⸻ 💪 Weight Loss / Fitness “If thousands of people with slower metabolisms, busier schedules, and less discipline have lost 50 pounds… why couldn’t you?” “If your body has burned fat before — which means it knows how — why couldn’t it do it again?” “If one small change in eating patterns has transformed other people’s energy, confidence, and health… why couldn’t it do the same for you?” “If others with the same cravings, same stress, same life responsibilities found a way — why couldn’t you?” ⸻ 💼 Business / Entrepreneurship “If others started with nothing but a laptop and Wi-Fi and built million-dollar brands… why couldn’t you?” “If someone with less time, less skill, and fewer connections launched an offer that changed their life… why couldn’t you?” “If it’s been proven that the right message can change your income overnight — why couldn’t your message be next?” “If other people use ads, funnels, and offers to escape the 9-5… why couldn’t you?” ⸻ ❤️ Relationships / Self-Worth “If you’ve given love before, you can give it again — so why couldn’t you receive it this time?” “If others healed from heartbreaks that felt impossible, why couldn’t you?” “If you’ve already survived what once broke you, why couldn’t you thrive now?” “If people can grow closer after being honest, not before it — why couldn’t you?” ⸻ 🧠 Mindset / Personal Growth “If someone else turned their lowest point into the thing that set them free… why couldn’t you?” “If your brain created your limits — and you control your brain — why couldn’t you create new ones?” “If everything you’ve ever overcome was proof of your resilience, why couldn’t this be too?” “If belief is learned — and you’ve learned everything else in your life — why couldn’t you learn this one?” ⸻ 💸 Money / Finance “If millions of people have rebuilt their credit, paid off debt, and started fresh… why couldn’t you?” “If someone earning half your income became financially free, why couldn’t you?” “If the system works for those who understand it, why couldn’t you learn it and make it work for you?” “If your past spending habits got you here, new ones can get you out — so why couldn’t they?” And if you want to create your own, it basically uses logic + a pivot, here's how that looks: ⸻ Here’s how I create lines that shift beliefs instantly — the kind that make people stop, think, and say “Damn… that’s true.” Step 1: Truth Premise Start with a statement that’s impossible to argue with. Something grounded in logic or evidence that no one can deny. Example: “If others have done it…” or “If your body adapts to what you feed it…” Step 2: Relatability Anchor Make it personal to the reader’s world. Show them people just like them have done it — not superheroes, not exceptions. Example: “If they started with less time, less money, or less skill…” Step 3: Possibility Pivot Now drop the line that shifts their belief. This is where you transfer power back to them. Example: “Why couldn’t you?” or “So why not you?” Step 4: Emotional Proof Add a dose of empathy and reality — show them they’ve done hard things before. Example: “You’ve already overcome worse.” This makes the logic feel true, not just sound true. Step 5: Certainty Close End by turning possibility into inevitability. Example: “Because the only thing stopping you… is the belief that you can’t.” And just like that, you can load up any copy, be it an ad, VSL, TSL, webinar, challenge or an email to make them punch that much harder. Have a great Tuesday, Alen

Are you using emotional arcs in copy? You know, where you take a reader up and down through an emotional roller coaster, the peaks and valleys of copy... ...Where you suddenly take the left turn and something unexpected happens. This is what keeps the copy from being "flat" and makes it so engaging to the point where you can the rhythm of their physiology from the heart rate to the pace of breath. Every great movie, book and script has these emotional arcs and your copy should as well. The end point of any emotional arc is to feel good and that's why we want more of what feels good. We eat and drink more because it feels good. We buy clothes that make us feel good about ourselves. When we look in the mirror and like what we see, we feel good. We work out because it feels good. We make money because what money can get us feels good. We love the game because playing the game feels good. Knowing what makes them FEEL good is the key. And that's why the best way to increase conversions on any offer is to simply know this principle: An offer, promotion or any piece of copy is nothing more than part of or a sales process. At the end of every sales process, they should feel GOOD. If they feel good, they'll want more of that feeling and they'll talk themselves into it to get more of it. Now, if they feel BAD, they'll talk themselves out of it, because no one likes to feel bad. So next time you're writing copy, pay attention to how you feel by the time you're done reading it. Pay attention to that END point, do you feel good, really good, holy shit levels good, or do you feel meh, or even bad? That is the source of the gut feel in the sales process, and now you know how to control it. Also, if you notice a lot of my posts, they always end with making you feel good, hence why you're here reading them again and again and again. And if you want to get real good at it, you'll realize that feeling good is one step away from addiction, and that's how you step into writing addictive copy. Have a great Sunday, Alen
