was finally able to use Apple’s Live Translate for the first time today to have a 30 minute conversation with my fiancée’s dad.\n\nIt was one of the most insane product experiences I’ve ever had. It was genuinely magical. In 9 years we have never been able to have a proper chat because of the language barrier and always needing a translator or having to juggle shitty translation apps.\n\nBut…it was pretty inaccurate/buggy. Maybe Chinese is too hard? We struggled to go deep on any topic because the software couldn’t handle complex ideas or fast talking.\n\nThis still felt like a glimpse into the future. I truly hope Apple will keep investing in this space.
