Lot of subjective perception in the comments of this debate. Seems like some people think Douglas clearly won and some think Dave clearly won. This cognitive bias is due to a knowledge gap of both the debaters and the listeners. Between these two guys, there is a very distinct knowledge gap. But the gap’s existence is only clear to people who also know enough about the subject. Dave got Ben gurion and Chaim Weizmann confused. He doesn’t even know the basics. He can’t pronounce any of the Hebrew org’s names. He’s getting facts and dates wrong left and right. He barely knows anything. And Douglas is trying to take it in stride, trying to mask how stunned he is that they really brought a guy on with puddle deep knowledge of the conflict to debate him. Unfortunately his perplexity at this is interpreted as elitism by all the other people with shallow understanding of the conflict who can’t detect the major knowledge gap
