Crazy how people have the balls to sell a course without even owning one of these:

2019: Started studying Law at the University of Nijmegen. 2020: Realized that the regular 9 to 5 corporate life wasn’t for me, I wanted more freedom. I started searching for opportunities online and came across a well-known figure in e-commerce. I bought his course and, alongside my studies, went all-in on ecom. 2021: Faced major setbacks in ecom due to lack of experience. I had to make a tough decision: pause ecom for a while and refocus. Got caught in the “shiny object syndrome,” jumped into YouTube automation and trading. But through that journey, I met my current business partner. Even though we had explored other ventures, we were both still in love with ecom. 2022: Cut out the distractions. Dropped YouTube and trading to go all-in on e-commerce and my Law degree, this time with a focus on branding and long-term strategy. Together with my business partner. 2023: We found a product that hitted al our KPI’s but…. We faced many struggles. Blocked ad accounts was a weekly thing. Shopify holds and sleepless nights. What if this all doesn’t work out? Despite this, we didn’t give up. 2024: Built serious momentum with the product, generating over €10 million in revenue within 12 months, and established a strong presence across the Big 5 countries, primarily in Europe. Also graduated from university in the meantime. If I start with something, I finish it. 2025: Scaled the business, built a high-performing team, and have consistently generated over €1,300,000 monthly revenue since March 2024. You see? This isn’t some overnight success story. It’s years of falling, learning, and getting back up. Too many people think ecom is a get-rich-quick scheme, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s about staying consistent, putting in the work no matter what, and getting back up when Shopify holds 6 figs from you or Meta bans your ad accounts. This is my first post on X, but definitely not my last. I’m here to share some golden nuggets and the untold truth about ecom, dropshipping, and branding for the younger and less experienced version of myself. No fluff. No overnight success BS. Just raw lessons from the trenches. Take it or leave it, do what you want with the info.

Yesterday I was training in one of the biggest gyms in the world. Oxygen Gym in Dubai. 10.000 m² and more than 1000 machines. No women allowed. No gym music. (so you’re fucked if you forget your AirPods haha) Also includes a large pool, restaurant, sauna, everything. 10/10 recommend.

Just flew economy class to Dubai. And today I'm doing groceries like everyone else. Most people only show the flashy part. The crazy cars, the dinners, the villas. But nobody shows that even if you make serious money with ecom, you can still do normal things and be a normal human being. (and do the flashy shit sometimes)

Little reminder to ask your favo guru to show his stack of Shopify trophies. Maybe it’s your lucky day and he can show you one 10k award. One more 100k award and two more 10k’s on the way btw.

Let’s settle this debate: Dropshipping vs Branding. I’ve built both. Had success in both. Here’s my take: When a dropshippers ads stop, the store dies. But when a brands ads stop, they’ll still convert because they’ve built something real. This is why dropshipping is great at the start of your ecom journey: You can build steady cashflow, gain experience, learn skills, etc. Which you’ll need to build a solid brand. But until you’ve got $25k liquid, steady cashflow, and 6–12 months of ecom experience, Don’t touch branding. Because branding isn’t a logo or a cool website. It’s an entire infrastructure. We’re building brands that: Have repeat purchase rates over 25%. Are stocked in a 3PL. Have CACs that go down over time, not up. That’s the difference. You dropshipping guys are optimising for clicks. While we’re optimizing for customer lifetime value. Our returning customer revenue alone is probably higher than your favorite guru’s total revenue. That’s how we hit $2.5M months without stressing over ad performance all the time. We’ve built a machine that constantly runs. And that’s why branding will always be better than dropshipping.

Most people won’t make it in ecom. And it’s not because they’re not talented or skillful. After 5+ years in this space, I’ve watched insanely capable people disappear while others with half the skill scaled to big numbers. And it always comes down to one thing: Obsession. The people who win stay locked into the game. They keep learning, testing, and asking better questions. Even when things are going well (!). Every setback becomes data instead of a reason to quit or slow down. They follow one strategy long enough for it to work. They know the importance of investing in themselves/their business. They don’t slow down after a single win or treat one good product like it means they’ve “made it.” Most people do the opposite. They quit as soon as it gets hard, or they get their first bit of momentum and immediately get comfortable. The people who break through aren’t the most talented. They're the most hungry for more. That mindset is the real separator.

Most ecom guys retire at 23. Not because they 'made it' or something. But because they got comfortable after their first $10K month. See, the hardest part of ecom isn't making the money. It's staying hungry once you do. I see it all the time, even in my coaching program. The guys who start hungry to make serious money with ecom often lose that fire after just a few K a month They get comfortable and don't feel the need to push harder. That’s when the real gap forms. The difference between $10K, $100K or even $1M a month isn’t only skill. It's hunger. It’s the guys who don’t get comfortable after their first taste of success. The ones who keep grinding, testing, failing, and iterating while everyone else chills. If you want to actually build something that lasts, you’ve got to stay hungry. Even when it’s “enough.” Comfort kills more ecom stores than competition ever will.
