idk how @dhh pulls it off but he just made me wanna crawl back to rails. i did rails 12 years ago, first taste was "rails for zombies" course, hilarious way to learn rails. and of course as an iOS dev, i interacted with Ruby whole my career. maybe it is time to come back.

It is clear now - devs need agents running in their absence with remote access. Background agents exist, but setup is hell - especially for front-end devs. I run agents locally but monitor remotely. @VibeTunnel handles this perfectly - dead simple, opensource, effective. Try it.

AppCode set the gold standard for IDEs, and I fear we'll never reach that level again. During my time at Uber, I sometimes had to let AppCode index for 30 minutes before I could start work, but once it finished, the experience was flawless. Navigation was instantaneous - jumping from a protocol to any implementation, or from a method to its protocol definition in another library - everything just worked. Xcode still can't match this. There's noticeable lag between selecting a jump destination and the actual navigation, and it frequently fails to list every type conforming to a protocol and many other things. And I'm talking specifically about Swift, which actually didn't support half of the features that ObjC supported in AppCode. That is why I always find it funny when someone says that Xcode is a great IDE. Developers for Apple ecosystem have simply grown accustomed to low expectations regarding their development experience.

Love how @AmpCode keeps things simple, but running blind without any output from scripts makes me uneasy. Would be great to see at least basic results by default. That said, expand mode with vim controls is brilliant. Way better than Claude Code where I struggle to verify script outputs.
