Biggest barrier to entry is gatekeeping. That’s where the “luck” comes in. Have to hope you entertain the right person, find the right group chat, follow the right people, etc.

This is true and it’s cope to say otherwise. We can be honest and say our parents and grandparents likely put in more real hours than us. But those jobs they worked 12 hours a day had a real chance of turning into something further. There is truly no hope for those in Gen Z. How often do you hear about someone “working their way up” to a better role in the company. How often do you hear about some executive giving an inexperience kid a chance, just because he “had the right attitude”. The answer is never. Gen Z specifically are bombarded with algos telling them the only way they’ll ever make it is if they sell a course or shill Chinese bullshit on TikTok shop. Not to fault ecom guys, but it’s a far cry from the honest living we were told we’d get as kids.

One day i’ll make it far enough to not be tripped up by check engine lights. Ideally it’ll be in a car nicer than this beater VW, but I can’t be too greedy.

I only want money so I can be generous. I want to be able to borrow my friends car and then buy him a detail as a thank you. I want to gift people nice bottles of wine. I want to buy my kid his dream car for his birthday. That’s all I want.

I spend maybe 90% of my day either working my actual job, or teaching myself new skills. Spent a slow day at work today refining my vibe coding skills as I haven’t programmed anything since middle school.

Ate a burrito at work before the gym, pre workout with vegetable glycerol, and 20 minute sauna post lift. My arms literally feel like they’re going to pop.
