It's amazing between Google, Microsoft, and Apple how many AI features are coming to consumer devices. Features users didn't ask for, are afraid of, don't understand, and are unproven. Is there another example of some trend that was so aggressively pushed on consumers?

It's probably just my feed, but I see a lot of talk about getting married and having kids. Looking back at my life, career vs kids. There is no competition, family is the best. I was raised to basically get married young and have kids. Growing up (in CA) that was not generally accepted and people thought it was strange and often had critical views towards it. All I can say now is that I'm so happy I got married and had kids in my twenties. I recognize everyone is different. But if you can, I recommend it. Of course marriage is hard. Of course kids are hard. And it's expensive. But if you can find someone you love, be truly dedicated to each other, and put everything in it, the rewards are so great. Like anything good, it's hard work.

k8s is such a big, complicated thing and you focus so much time on it that you kind of forget what the original goal was. What we're trying to do again?

People hate yaml, but honestly, what is better if I want a readable config file that has some structure? Don't say toml. toml is only good at flat ini style config, it sucks when it comes to structure.

I need suggestions on good observability solutions for production. If nobody suggest something better I will go with datadog. But I hate datadog because I'm a like a regular person and apparently their interface was not designed for regular people.

About every year I complain there isn't a simple "docker run" like CLI to create VMs in KVM. And then people suggest something, they all suck. So yet again. Is there simple CLI to create VMs? And if you say virsh your fired (I will find your boss and tell them to fire you).

For people that have a dedicated desktop, what do you do for speaker. I'm sporting some crappy logitech speakers that would have been all the rage in 1999. They are functionally fine, I just hate the desk space that they use.

I'm a complete mess. Like I hit mid life crisis hard. I'm a cofounder and supposed to be selling tech, so it doesn't really make sense to talk about things like this. Are you going to buy a product from a guy that's emotionally unstable. But oh well. Did you watch that Avicii netflix special a couple years back. Like I totally understand how people can be trapped in their emotions to the point of what he did. Don't worry, that won't happen to me. The point is I have this duality. I can totally objectively look at myself (at least I think I can) and see how there's not really any problems. Yet the emotions I feel are so strong. Completely to the contrary of reality. So I can feel my emotions and just feel terrible. Or shut them off and everything is great. You see the problem there right :) How do you feel emotion and for everything to be great. If you figure that out, let me know. Because emotions suck, they are so illogical. Like after decades of telling myself I hate people and don't care what they think, I figure out I really do like people and I really do care what they think and really do want them to like me. So awesome, I figured that out, but now what. Why can't I just be happy with myself and not need the external validation. I dunno, just blabbing at this point. At some point your gonna want to unfollow me. I'm not the same person I was 10 years ago, obnoxious ranting about technology and pissing people off. That hasn't made me happy, that was a fairly non-constructive way to deal with my internal frustrations. Like I complain about how terrible all software is. But it's not like I say that because I think what I build is better. It's the opposite. I'm more critical about what I do. I always think it's crap. Frustrated that I can't make it better. My rantings on X have just been a way to share my frustrations in a slightly funny way, but internally it's so much worse. It's a dark place inside. But it's warm and comfortable :) Anyhow, feel free to unfollow. I've got to go program something now.
