Crime aside, the hilarious bit is that CT has a very short attention span and memory. It could have been very easily buried and it’d have died out. But when you have a walking liability of a CSO who’s basically a cowboy and operating clearly without legal & compliance guidance, you know this is a company to stay far away from. On a side note, people like Cecilia are dime a dozen in my industry (commodities). Grow a decent network from being a market maker/broker, selectively quote tweet or parrot insights from people at the top to give the impression they are in the same circle, go full linkedin jackass mode and weasel your way into a business development manager role at a smaller firm that needs the growth but doesn’t know better.

At some point you’ll realize aside from your loved ones, there’s only 2 types of people who have any bearing on your life. 1) People who can cause physical harm - Not an issue in a country with law and order. 2) People you are reliant on for money, eg. your boss, client, someone major in your industry etc or someone who can influence any of that. For everyone else, feel free to adopt a “fuck off” approach.

We all have our own paths and own goals in relation to that. But what we're seeing now across the board is an over the top 'participation trophy' mindset, where we think opportunities and plaudits should be given to someone for trying. And hot take here, where's the biggest example of this? In sports. Crossfit, hyrox etc. No chance of ever winning a state-level running championship? No chance of ever beating Lu Xiaojun at the Olympic lifts? Well, let's just mix everything up and create a new sport which I have a better chance at winning. Can't bench 3 plates? "Strength training is not functional. I'm doing calisthenics to master my own bodyweight instead hurhur.”

Secret sauce for those in town for 2049 is taking a short detour to neighbouring countries/islands. Singapore is tiny and honestly, not that many touristy things to do after a couple of days. If you took a long-haul flight here and have time, worth checking out the surrounding region (Penang, KL, Indo/Phil islands) for couple of days.

Separately, one reason why politics is divisive and murky is because you can't really expect people to act against their own self-interests even if it's in line with their beliefs. Take a theoretical example for the US and China. It's practically impossible for the US to ever have a new cross-country high speed train system that goes to all the major cities. Ownership of the project aside, what are you going to do about the acquisition for land needed? For China, the TLDR is as a one-party state in that environment, the government can pretty much bulldoze anything to achieve its objective. Rights are important but half a century from now, I'm pretty sure there will be more Americans who look at their counterparts across the Pacific and their progress/development and start wondering if maybe rights shouldn't be prioritized that much.

The older generation’s general attitude towards fitness can be hilarious at times. Often, there isn’t an end goal when they get into it but more to tick some mental boxes for a good ol’ self pat on the back. Our health board over here had an old recommendation of 150min/week of exercise. When they updated it to 150-300min/week with a bunch of other stuff, people complained lmao. They complained about it being too much as if the health board was some deity that determined how each body should function.

It seems to be human nature to not ask for credentials or to want to not come off as a skeptic. On a similar reason, that’s why I can’t ever be a strength coach even if it paid as much as my day job. I can’t even imagine that I’d have to explain that a coach who can’t bench more than my OHP is an absolute wanker.

Gm! Not a big 'believer' in Uptober. End of the day without fundamentals, it's all just number of Earth rotations/position around the sun. I think the real bull action will come sometime next year and crypto outperforming gold will be my main indicator. Couple of things still need to be in place for that to happen. Housing liquidity has to improve and that's linked to mortgage rates and long term bond yields. And gold has to start being frothy enough for traders to want to rotate out of it.
