Virgile’s so deep in dev mode, he probably thinks ‘marketing’ is just a new JavaScript framework he's yet to learn. Keep coding those apps though—maybe someday your customers will find your marketing section buried somewhere in the commented code!

Successfully developed and publicly launched @code_reels, a unique AI-powered video editor tailored for coding content creators, demonstrating both technical innovation and commitment to the creator economy.

To empower creators and developers by building accessible, efficient tools that streamline video editing and content production, helping users amplify their impact with less effort.

Virgile believes in transparency and learning through public building, values clean, maintainable code over shortcuts ('no vibecoding'), and trusts that persistence and community support will drive success. He holds that innovation is a journey with ups and downs, and authenticity in sharing that process is key to growth.

Exceptional technical skills and a strong work ethic, combined with a willingness to publicly share challenges, fostering authenticity and connection with the community. His ability to rapidly prototype and deliver clean, commented code positions him as a trustworthy developer.

Struggles with client acquisition, marketing, and sales, often staying in a comfort zone focusing on development while underestimating the importance of outreach and customer engagement.

To grow his audience on X, Virgile should leverage his authentic storytelling by regularly sharing both successes and setbacks to build relatability. Engaging more actively with fellow creators and potential customers through replies, Twitter Spaces, and collaborative threads will expand his network. Additionally, experimenting with short educational content, showcasing quick tips or behind-the-scenes videos using @code_reels, can highlight his product’s value and boost visibility.

Despite building several SaaS products, Virgile openly admits to currently having zero users and $0 MRR for his latest app, highlighting the real and raw side of entrepreneurship rarely seen in polished social media narratives.

i finally decided to follow the trend and build in public. for the past month i've been building a tool to level up my coding tutorials quality. I've named it "Code Reels". A video editor with a built in code editor to display nice code snippets on screen. very niche, but I saw an opportunity for this little tool. Educators that I admire like @mattpocockuk and @simonswiss invested time trying to produce high quality, short-form content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. It is not simple to achieve. I believe I can come up with a great app for this use-case, using @codehike_ and @Remotion . Other creators whom I look up to (that produce stunning coding visuals) are @delba_oliveira , @lydiahallie and @nicoalbanese10 . Why am I sharing all this ? To keep myself accountable. It is a fun little project, but can it generate money 💸? I think so. But not with the "code generation" feature. I think this tool could become a great Submagic / VeedIO cheaper 'alternative'. I don't see myself paying $20 a month to generate only 10 videos of 1 minute. The pricing and limits are confusing. I am hoping to build a product similar to @postbridge_ : simpler to use and way cheaper. Since I started building it, I've seen creators build similar tools : - @woocassh with SubtitlesFast - @YBenlemlih with @SnipCastDev - @mazeincoding with @opencutapp - @rexan_wong with Brandthetics - @itstundealao with KozyStudio Lot of competition, and their product look amazing! This is gonna be fun! This is my first SaaS and I have a lot more to share soon. Follow me to make sure you don't miss it ! 🔥

I worked with @AmpCode last night. It was a delight. Totally different experience compared to @AnthropicAI Claude Code recently. My first question is to @sqs : how is it possible that it's this good ? (and I really am interested by the answer. what do you feed in : a better prompt? better context?) I really do not understand why, because Amp also uses Anthropic models like Sonnet 4 or Opus 4 ? I watched the @pvncher interview with @RayFernando1337 on @RepoPrompt : Context management is very important. But it is really dead and night. I do not trust Claude Code to implement a basic form anymore. I am tired of having to include, in every single prompt : - " Please, do not write additional types " - " Please, reuse existing components " - " Please, edit the current file instead of creating a new one you'll call component-updated " - " Please use the same convention and syntax as in [MENTION other files] " It never remembers. No matter how many markdown files, Agents.md, Claude.md, Cursor Rules i feed it. The only great thing about Claude Code is the high rate-limits and the price. When I started working on this new project, to create the codebase, Claude Code excelled. It excelled at creating the code, setting up the project. It's only when I ask Claude to make edits that it struggles.

giving @AmpCode a go this afternoon ... it fixed an issue I struggled with, makes me happy. But the terminal commands never exit, it seems. its tried 4 times within 30 minutes to run a terminal command. A simple `rm` command, takes forever. Infinite loading. Any idea why ? @daniel_mac8

I feel like I've reached the limit of coding with AI, with the SaaS I'm building. Even with Claude Code max plan Even with detailled and precise prompts Even with giving the correct framework context and docs, using @Context7AI Even with ChatGPT o3-pro and @RepoPrompt Feels like there are some issues that the AI simply cannot comprehend / solve yet. Claude is excellent to start scaffolding good-enough code, but when your criteria is perfection, it really falls short.

after working 2.5 incredible years at @Goodcollectco I decided to quit and go the indie-hacking route instead. why ? the job wasn't fulfilling anymore. i've been working part-time on @code_reels for the the past couple months. trying speed up video editing with AI. even if big VCs funded companies are competing in the space, I'm taking my chances trying to this problem. i got lots of ideas to try out and a vision of my own. follow me for updates, i plan to share everything I learn from mistakes + successes. big shoutout to the new generation of indie-hackers for proving its still possible to win: - @robj3d3 with SuperX - @JoschuaBuilds and @robin_faraj with Postel - @jackfriks with @postbridge_ - @Pauline_Cx with @Refindie_com + @feedbask_com lets go 🔥

Just got brutally honest feedback from a developer I contacted on Instagram. I asked him to try my app @code_reels (he usually uses CapCut). He said it straight: mine sucks compared to CapCut. Even offering free lifetime access or an affiliate deal didn’t change his perspective. This feedback is much welcome ! It will help me grow the product.

Today was a particularly hard day emotionally. I considered quitting (stop building @code_reels ) I considered selling it I considered hiring a co-founder to keep working on it I spent the last 4 months building this product. I personally like the app, the code is great and maintainable. But this doesn't sell. I thought I could 'compete' with these amazing products like @capcutapp , @submagic_co , @veedstudio but it is going to take even more time to provide a great UX and a very fast experience. The goal was not to 'compete' per se, but to grab a piece of the pie. $10k MRR is every indiehackers dream. I have $0 MRR. 0 paid customers. Because I don't market this app. Because I don't find it useful or valuable enough. Friends have suggested I pivot to "automating the editing process for long-form videos" instead. It would be exactly the same product, with a different messaging. Sounds tempting. Maybe I'll end up doing this. I really do not want to give up building this SaaS. I still think it has great potential, solves a big problem (video editing takes a long time), and is valuable. Curious to hear what you think. P.S : Thank you for reaching the milestone yesterday @robj3d3 , that really inspired me
