In January, I made 9 static ads for @ashvinmelwani at @my_obvi 2 of them have turned into mega-winners that are running to this day. That’s a 22% hit rate. Before you scroll to reveal the answer… Can you guess them first? . . . . . Winner #1 Angle: Weight loss without starving Desire: Avoid suffering and pain Format: Bold statement + Feature point-outs This was the first ad from the batch and I was 99.9% sure it would take off. Why? 1. No-fluff promise 2. Specific numbers And, most importantly… 3. Removes fear There are millions of weight loss products selling the same dream. How do you stand out? Add a mechanism that removes the suffering associated with the outcome. Obvi's mechanism is 'curbing appetite.' Meaning, you lose weight by eating less because you feel satiated. In other words: you're not starving. FYI, this is not new. Many products use the same mechanism. Just none of them position it to remove a fear. If you go to Obvi's ad library now… You'll see variations of this headline all over their creatives. Meaning, the original one unlocked an evergreen stream of customers with that specific appeal. Ok, moving on to winner #2… Loved making this one! The image was generated with MidJourney. I forget the prompt but it was something with dough… Angle: Mom problems (kind of broad but moms have a lot on their plate) Desire: Get back confidence Format: Headline + Features Honestly, I attribute the success of this one to the image. The headline is important. It's short, to the point, and calls out a very specific audience and their problem. But just like the headline is a hook for the paragraph… The image is a hook for the headline. It's bizarre. A bit icky. And creates the right association for the right person. If you google 'mom pooch' you'll understand what I'm talking about. Not saying it's a nice angle. But 'nice' doesn't always have the 'oomph' needed to get someone to take action.

Before → After CRO'ing my own landing page's pricing section. 1️⃣ Reduced the number of plans 3's the standard in pricing SaaS. But it doesn't mean it's the golden rule for productized services. I've reduced the number of plans for Wicked to 2 because the difference between the 3 plans was so insignificant that it only confused the prospects and made choosing more difficult.  2️⃣ Added custom solution CTA For those who don't feel comfortable with either plan, there's now a catch-all. A simple paragraph + CTA inviting the reader to book a call anyway. Many people bounce out of fear to book a call for a service they feel they're not 100% qualified for. The goal here is to catch the lead. This ensures they don't fall through the net. 3️⃣ Highlighted key differences Before, the features and benefits were all formatted the same, and same-category points were scattered on different lines. This makes reading and pinpointing the differences between plans extremely difficult and frustrating. Now, they're all lifted to the top for easy comparison. 4️⃣ Added savings on the quarterly tab Absolutely shocked at how I missed this initially. This is a crucial element in any pricing section. To reduce churn, I need to convert as many quarterly plans as possible. I incentivized this by offering a discount, but never explicitly showed how much you can save. Don't ever make the prospect COUNT how much they're saving. SHOW THEM. ❓ Which one do you like better: left or right? #buildinginpublic #webdesign #webdesigner
