Vibe coding is a scam. I tried vibe coding for 2 days. I’m talking real vibe coding where I turn on YOLO mode and spend time on my phone while Cursor spits out code. Here’s why it’s a scam: 1. I didn’t learn anything. Like actually nothing. I felt dumber than before 2. It generates 💩 code. The worst code imaginable. Extremely annoying or impossible to debug. Easier to just start over 3. AI can’t fix every bug. Sometimes it goes in infinite loops trying to fix something 4. It’s not fun. At first it seems great but once you realize you don’t know what’s going on and it’s producing bad code, it gives you stress and anxiety 5. I feel like a worse engineer. Not thinking through the approach, how to build a solution, how to debug, what even am I doing? At this point I’m a non-technical product manager (no offense ❤️)

It’s been a month since I shut down my startup. Here’s everything I learned (so you don’t have to): 1. Everyone says they’ll use your free product. Few actually will 2. Your 100-person waitlist means nothing. Maybe 1,000 means something. Maybe 3. Payment is the only real validation. Not compliments. Not surveys. Cash 4. Once you launch, stop building. Start marketing. Obsess over marketing 5. Marketing is the yin to your product’s yang. Almost nothing goes viral on its own 6. Founder-led marketing only works if your story matches the product’s story 7. Think through your business model before you start. Millions of users and ads is not a business model 8. Hurry up and launch your first product. The faster you fail, the faster you stop being delusional 9. Your name and logo don’t matter. You’ll probably rebrand if you ever get big anyway 10.Don’t register an LLC or corporation until you have real traction. Save your money and time 11. When you realize someone is mediocre, let them go. They’ll never magically become an A-player 12.Don’t give people fourth and fifth chances. They’ll keep making the same mistakes. 13. Beware the person who says they worked 80 hours but barely moves the needle. They think effort = progress. In startup world, results = progress. 14. Don’t work with slow learners. Startups require you to do things you’ve never done before. These people aren’t cut out for it 15. Your value isn’t tied to your startup. Your value is tied to your willingness to try and how you handle failure Build fast. Fail fast. Learn faster. Most lessons hurt. That’s why the work

I’m sorry y’all. I started out trying to make it as a builder but I’ve recently switched to looking for a job. AI made me realize why build full time without a job when I could build with a job? I want to keep making projects but since tech interviews require decent Leetcode skills, I’m now forced to practice and get good at this cuz I’m new to it and so bad at it. I promise you tho I will be back to building and I will make it as a builder. One day or another. I love creating. I love coding. If anyone out there feels the same, keep your head up and keep going

My fellow entrepreneurs, can you offer some advice? After I built and launched two apps, my confidence in my own convictions have been shattered. Every new idea I have is littered with doubt and fear that it’s a bad idea and it won’t work. How did you deal with these thoughts and how did you regain your confidence?

I finally shut down my startup. That’s why I haven’t posted at all for a couple weeks - I just needed a break from everything. This doesn’t mean I have given up on building, not in the slightest. But rather, it’s given me time to reflect on how I can be a better entrepreneur. I’ve come to realize several things, which I will probably post about soon. In the meantime, I have been: - working out consistently - eating better - practicing leetcode - working on an AI Course for Small Business Owners (for my dad) - reading books - listening to podcasts of successful founders who are 1-2 steps ahead of me - thinking about the next idea to build Idk if I’m back at 100% yet but I do feel better and I have a new idea 😁

What would you say to an investor who said this to you? “Your idea doesn’t have a moat… it’s not defensible enough.” I just think so many successful companies don’t have a moat either?
