Kayla tweets more than a bot on caffeine and probably debates reality so hard she has alternate timelines begging for a break. Sometimes it feels like she’s prepping for a PhD in Overthinking but hey, at least her notifications are never lonely!

Her highest-impact tweet drew over 12 million views and ignited a massive real-time conversation about hurricane evacuation challenges, showcasing her powerful ability to mobilize and engage a community around critical, life-impacting issues.

Kayla’s life purpose is to challenge conventional thinking while providing actionable wisdom that helps her audience navigate complex realities—from natural disasters to mental health and societal changes. She aims to inspire awareness and thoughtful reflection, empowering others to face uncertainty with insight and resilience.

Kayla values truth, critical inquiry, and the democratization of knowledge, believing strongly in the power of informed conversations to shape better outcomes. She trusts in the importance of blending science, philosophy, and lived experience to create holistic understanding.

Her greatest strength lies in sparking deep and meaningful engagement around timely and timeless issues, deftly mixing high-volume tweeting with varied content that appeals to curiosity, empathy, and intellectual rigor.

However, her prolific tweeting at times risks overwhelming her audience or diluting impact, and the occasional jump between heavy topics may leave some followers struggling to keep up or confused about her core message.

To grow her audience on X, Kayla should consider curating her vast content into themed threads or series that highlight her strongest ideas, making it easier for new followers to dive deep and stay engaged. Additionally, spotlighting more personal storytelling could humanize her brand and build emotional connection.

Kayla once posted that her town was under a hurricane evacuation order with no gas available and severe traffic, sparking thousands of replies debating what to do—highlighting her knack for engaging a community in real-time crisis scenarios.

As a media strategist, I’m watching social media fall in real time, and I couldn’t be more here for it. The faster it falls, the sooner we can build immersive platforms that support targeted experiences and micro-communities. NFTs and crypto communities are a live case study in decentralized systems, community building, and memetic culture, testing what decentralized platforms for information sharing might look like. Governments are watching closely, using these spaces as a hands-off pilot program for how DeFi, digital assets, and community-driven governance function. What they’re all realizing is that brands can’t rely on reach alone anymore. Vanity metrics have died. Smaller brands are better positioned to pivot toward authentic marketing within niche communities, but they have others holding them to outdated standards. The sooner they stop relying on vanity metrics, the better. The old OKRs aren’t effective anymore, and firing the media team won’t address the core issue. Building community at this level requires specialized talent, which most small brands can’t afford. Cultivating a ‘cult’ following isn’t traditional marketing; it’s labor-intensive and requires a deep understanding of both product and audience. Rapid-fire content isn’t sustainable in this next phase, and companies still relying on hustle culture won’t keep up. The sooner everyone stops worrying about optics and embraces the fall of trad social media, the better off they’ll be in the long run.

The Humane AI pin by OpenAI has launched for $699. Not surprisingly, the word on the street is it doesn’t work. It’s thoroughly unfinished and underwhelming. This is a screen-less interface powered by AI. It will be connected to apps on the back end and bundled into a subscription service. The Humane AI pin allows users to interact with their Humane assistant hands-free using voice commands. With the pin, users can send messages, make calls, set reminders, and control smart home devices. This is different because it is supposed to eliminate the need for a phone or computer altogether. That means no more phone screens or typing. No more texting and driving. Instead, you can speak requests aloud and wear your phone as a brooch, ultimately. However, it can’t set an alarm or a timer, add things to your calendar, or tell you what’s already there. How is something that can’t set an alarm released and sold as a phone replacement? There are other issues also, and one concern is privacy. The hardware prevents customers from repairing or engineering it themselves. The lack of repairability means we don’t know how it is working. Instead, we have to entrust Microsoft and OpenAI with repairing it. This usually involves giving up personal data or paying high fees. The hardware this uses can also do things like access your camera and microphone even if they’re turned off. It can track your location even if you don’t allow tracking using Wi-Fi. Let’s not forget this kind of tech measures physiological signals like heart rate variability and skin conductance response. By analyzing these signals, this pin will have a constant stream of data based on your emotional state and personality traits. In the future, I assume we will see a lot of people deciding which device they should wear today and yelling at their jewelry and talking to their shirts. In addition to releasing this lackluster product, OpenAI has been caught in more legal trouble. The NYT has stated that OpenAI transcribed over a million hours of YouTube videos to train GPT-4. YouTube CEO Neal Mohan has also publicly mentioned OpenAI using YouTube to train its Sora video-generating model this week. With all the privacy drama, I’m excited to hear from @lukemulks at Brave Browser today. Brave has been focused on data privacy for years, and they have now launched their own AI chatbot, Leo. They have a free model, but Leo Premium lets you choose from a menu of LLMs by Meta, Llama2 70b, and Anthropic’s Claude. Most importantly, Leo keeps chats private, anonymous, and secure. Leo doesn’t record chats or use them for model training. I think it’s time we all take data privacy more seriously. Join us soon x.com/i/spaces/1yqkd…
