Athena Hacker House (Unofficial Announcement) What to Expect? Date – September 3rd week, two or three days before @ETHGlobal! Place – Delhi! (A farmhouse with swimming pool, bonfire facility, and a place that can host a DJ party!) Duration – 50 hours complete no-sleep event! (Yes, there will be activities at 12 AM, 2 AM–4 AM, and it will carry on! So no one sleeps here.) Attendees – 69 Hackers (Yes, it’s only for Athena members, but if there are spots remaining or any other reason, we will invite the general public!) Accommodation – Food and stay will be fully covered! (Just reach here, then we’ll take care of the rest.) Sponsor – In talks with 2 sponsors! (But one big player in the industry has completely agreed to sponsor the entire event!) The Great Friendship One of the most important aspects of this hacker house will be meeting our online friends for the first time in real life. Athena members from all parts of the country will be traveling to one place to see their beloved friends! We all were random strangers in a Discord group. Slowly, we started hanging out, debugging code, helping each other, building projects together, fighting together, and exiting the lounge then again becoming friends! Without us even knowing, the people we saw on Twitter/Discord had become our best friends. Together, we built projects for hackathons and co-founded startups! The Elite Developers When we started Athena 1.5 years back, we had a vision to connect elite builders and build something together. Athena follows a different approach instead of increasing the number of members in a community, we had a hard cap of 300 and gave personal attention to each and every one! Every month, we receive hundreds of applications to join Athena. From that, we handpick around 10-20 people per month and invite them to our community. These people are not your average developers - these are cracked builders coding out of pure passion. Our community members have won many hackathons, grants! Wherever there is a major hackathon or grant, our members will be there and winning the prize every time! So Athena Hacker House will be seeing the best of the best young developers in the country! The Community-Driven The entire hacker house will be hosted by the community itself there won’t be any big names, no conferences, no hierarchy! We encourage everyone to contribute in whatever ways they can be it making a website for the event, finding a venue IRL, helping in marketing, video editing, organizing workshops or small fun activities bring it all! We will be giving you full access and decision-making power for what needs to be done and implemented! We will be breaking the typical stereotypical cliché hacker house model. All events will be chosen by the community and hosted by community members! So we expect all types of volunteering and contribution from you! Building an Open Source Web3 Project from Scratch to Production🚀 Who can benefit from this If you're a student or someone looking to get a job, you need a good project to add to your portfolio – then this is for you! If you've completed three successful contributions/PR, you'll be invited to an exclusive Discord channel where you'll gain access to the project roadmap, future development plans, and meet the team.
