Pushing the limit in pancake optics is what's needed for the next big leap in the XR industry. ▶️ True human-like 220° FOV in a compact design with huge sweet spot and higher brightness & clarity is the next big thing imho ◀️ Our portfolio company @HyperVisionXR is doing exactly that. At @SomniumSpace we experiment with lots of solutions to find the right one for a true next gen headsets. While it will take some time and such innovation is not instant, it is definitely the right way to go forward.
Ok, I didn’t want to write this post, but honestly I can’t watch it anymore. @ZacksJerryRig became obsessed hater of @elonmusk @MKBHD (a friend of Jerry) made a sudden hate turn dunking on Tesla and making wrong tech comments about things he doesn’t understand. Both WERE among my favorite YouTubers. Unfortunately after the biased hate began, I had to vote with my attention and I unsubscribed. Most probable reason? Of course it is Elons political views. It is absolutely insane to me to see seemingly smart people melt down and not being able to divide his achievements from his political views. I saw few people on Linked in writing long posts and arguing how SpaceX recent incredible successes isn’t actually Elons success but his engineering team only. How evil at work Elon is and that his contribution is almost zero. Are you all really that blindsided?! I am a small fish and entrepreneur myself. I respect Elon for his achievements. Heck I even respect @mcuban for his business achievements while not agreeing with his political choices at all. Before ever criticizing someone, please ask yourself - what did you achieve today? I can see @Scobleizer having a very balanced view on things and sometimes critical views on Tesla, yet Musk still invites him to events and engages with his tweets. Go build and create meaningful things people. Go work. If you will be busy, you will have less time to think about dunking on others too much. End of transmission.
Such a wrong take on Apple by @chamath and @Jason unfortunately. Apple has already won XR race with VisionOS and a wearable race on your face gents, you just don’t realize it yet since you probably don’t use it (but you will). They have basically already won next big device race. Regarding AI they are again ahead of everyone because they build on privacy first. Right now it slows them down, but in the future privacy will be one of the biggest differences in consumer choices when deciding on which AI to use. Apple today has incredible combo of hardware (M4 is a beast) and local models. They will push it even further. My spatial persona is being generated locally within 30 seconds and looks exactly like me. Insane 🤯 Google has great chance with their AndroidXR wearables and AI models. Meta is quite screwed. They failed VR race, now he is panicking and trying to buy his wait out but they lack platform play which is the most important one. So no, Apple is not loosing, they are just playing long term play and they do it masterfully.
