mcarter’s idea of a wild night is probably debating the merits of stripe vs clerk billing flows while dreaming about SaaS tech stacks—party animal or just software-addicted entrepreneur, you decide!

Building and launching multiple indiehacking apps tailored for highly specialized professions demonstrates mcarter’s impressive ability to identify gaps and deliver impactful tech solutions.

To empower specialized professionals through well-crafted, user-centric software solutions that streamline complex workflows and accelerate productivity.

mcarter values practical innovation, efficiency, and the power of community-driven tech. They believe in the importance of leveraging best-of-breed tools to maximize ROI quickly and in fostering platforms that support meaningful data insights and walkable, sustainable urban development.

Strong problem-solving skills combined with a clear vision for product-market fit and an ability to communicate complex tech concepts simply, making them a natural leader in niche software development.

Their focus on many detailed tech components and niche audiences might sometimes make their messaging less accessible to broader audiences; also, occasional enthusiasm for code-heavy solutions might overwhelm non-technical followers.

To grow their audience on X, mcarter should share more case studies and success stories around their apps, engage actively with follower questions, and simplify their messaging with bite-sized insights that resonate beyond niche techies.

Fun fact: mcarter loves diving deep into SaaS stacks and has a nuanced take on when to adopt established tech versus building custom solutions—a true testament to their entrepreneurial mindset.

Massive props to @ClerkDev and their engineering and product teams for figuring out lots of complicated foo around billing. Always the most annoying. Always being fearful of missing a use case and missing one in all 200+ webhooks. I can now charge for all my products fast!

Heres an opinionated best-of-breed list of saas+tech stack to accelerate building up your saas product: plain (support)@plainsupport mintlify (docs) @mintlify tinybird (customer analytics) @tinybirdco clerk (auth + subscriptions) @ClerkDev statsig (Analytics & Product Insights, gating experiments) @statsig doppler (secrets) @doppler resend (mail etc.) @resend rootly (incidents, ops) @rootlyhq cursor (ai agents / code) @cursor_ai notion (internal docs) @NotionHQ linear (ticket/agent mgmt + triage etc) @linear @Railway / @vercel (hosting/deploys) The only major incumbents that aren't being beaten seem to be: algolia (search) (still? whats the ai native + trad search alt?) bigquery (dataw) too good + gsheet integration is elite. stripe (payments) cant be beaten datadog (all ops) @datadoghq too good github + ghactions (code / cicd / automations) @github --- The question becomes HOW much of this do you use from day 1, vs not doing vs. hand rolling it vs putting off. eg. i'd rather adopt clerk day1 since it solves everything right away, vs any hand rolling auth (given its a pita to move auth once in, too). Some are incumbents too. Lets focus on the value acceleration in adoption! Cost is to be considered, but if we look at best of breed, we assume we'll hit roi quickly if that particular thing is a problem. Thoughts?

Always wondered why @jackfriks has a small mb upload limit per account? S3 usage is basically free and the more content you get in your bucket the better.

crosslink check from @mintlify needs to happen - in ci or cli to note if my docs have links to items found in <mywebsite>.com/sitemap.xml to strengthen the link graph I built a tool internally but surely this deserves to be goldplated? @skeptrune lets get it done

The @grok mobile app v2t is broken - when on android and trying to use the keyboards voice to text mode, it'll listen for a second or 3 and then shut off inexplicably. I don't want full voice mode, I just want v2t BC CBF typing

A fair few bugs in the x @grok implem on android. User IDs don't render as user chips inline, I often get <grokcontent> or similar in the text, instead of it rendering the rich component it's meant to show. I'd also say it's overly verbose. "As grok3 I like this bc.."

if i accidentally had "background" set to build on a plan, @cursor_ai , i can't change the type from background -> local. its stuck on this purple button.
