Feels like Token2049 just ended, and boom—we’re already at Devcon. Small ask for everyone: we’re all here to connect, share ideas, so let’s try to be a little kinder to each other. After two and a half years in the crypto conference circuit, I’ve def picked up some baggage, from both words and vibes. These spaces—where stuff like Eclipse's Neel misbehavior or “drugging” incidents happen—can get intense. Even hearing friends joke about bosses coming to meet “pretty BDs”—small as these comments are, they stack up and leave a mark. And then you see Twitter full of BD “insult” posts, while the conf you just left was mostly prepped by BDs. Still, I’ve tried to brush it off as “part of the job,” but ngl, all these little things start to add up. Now, I kinda dread conferences, feel anxious around people, and sometimes just wanna hide, tbh. When I was in NY as a digital nomad, even casual social situations were tough. Meeting more than two people at once got so overwhelming, I just wanted to stay home. (Lowkey glad I didn’t let myself do that.) Sure, there are awesome ppl at these conferences, but also some who make it rough. Since we’re here to connect and share, maybe this week in Bangkok we could be a bit warmer to each other? And if, like me, you’re feeling the weight of it all, know it’s not your fault. It just takes time to rebuild that trust in ppl and until that let's just fake it. Many of you know me as the selfie e-girl (you are not wrong), but here’s the real story: I started as a newbie founder reading Mastering Bitcoin in the Korea University Blockchain Club(im not from Korea uni lol). Fast forward—skipping over a stint at a now-defunct P2E game company, then @WemixNetwork, @mesherOfficial, @FourPillarsFP—some wild and valuable experiences that taught me a lot. I joined @particle_trade as BD, but ironically, I did way more marketing and community building. I learned deeply about community building with extremely limited resources. I was honored to help shape this pioneering DeFi protocol, experience both the highs and lows of the ecosystem (thanks @PacmanBlur), and witness firsthand what a TGE means to both a project and its community. Back then, I couldn’t differentiate community building from marketing. But now I realize: for small teams with limited resources, community building is everything. Focus all your energy there. But, when you’ve got more resources and your product is enterprise-focused, you need marketing. Not every project needs a community right away. The community... It’s often just a bunch of people waiting for the next airdrop. Not every project needs to focus on building that right off the bat. Just create a product with an edge. Next, I joined @EchoProtocol_ as CMO. I was able to craft the entire branding for this new BTC LST protocol. Huge thanks to @relate_studio, a super talented design agency that brought my ideas to life beyond expectations. I handled most of the posts because I wanted to keep everything under wraps until we revealed the product, partnerships, and branding all at once! It's cominggg! So why do we keep pretending that choosing the right thing means you can’t make money? I get this feeling because I also question myself, is there still any of that sweet idealism left in crypto? We once brought punks and geeks together through transparency and fair incentives, built a third financial world powered by anti-establishment energy. But what I see now feels rotten. EXTREME information asymmetry, exploitation disguised as innovation. A market built on anonymity, 24/7 speed, and trustless systems has become a casino where anyone can mint a token, pump it, and sell a dream. Yet, there’s finally a way to correct the distorted perception of reality shaped by media and algorithms and make it even more efficient using blockchain settlement. Prediction markets. That is why I’m teaming up with @Kalshi, the platform that fought U.S. regulators to make this form of trading fully legitimate across the country. I’ll be exploring Kalshi’s markets, sharing my thoughts, and opening Shubit Season 2 with them. Could you support us desuka? Because here, we can be right and be rich desu!
