Why I stopped buying courses (and why you should too) I wasted $1200 in 18 months on courses from people making 6-7 figures and learned absolutely nothing. Nothing. "This is an investment in myself" "I need to learn from the best" "This guy built a 7-figure business" God I was such an idiot. You know what he knows? How to sell courses to desperate people like you. Like me. Like the complete moron I was for believing that paying more meant learning more. Three months later you're exactly where you started. Actually, you're worse. Because now you're $1,500 poorer and convinced you're "not implementing correctly." But I kept buying. Kept thinking the next course would be different. Kept telling myself I was "investing in my education" while my savings account got emptier and my business stayed exactly the same. - The course is "comprehensive" - The community has "amazing value" - The weekly calls are "game-changing" Bullshit. The course is overwhelming. The community is full of other people who also spent too much money and don't know what they're doing. And the weekly calls are just him selling his next course. I learned this after buying 4 different courses. Four. I bought the same promise 4 different times and fell for it every single time. Here's what nobody tells you: 1 in every 3 courses sold by big creators is basically a scam for beginners. They know it. You don't. That's how they stay rich while you stay confused and broke. You know what would have actually helped? Talking to someone who made their first $1,000 online last month. Not someone who makes $50K and forgot what it's like to have $47 in your checking account. But that felt like settling. That felt small. I wanted to learn from "the best" because learning from someone just slightly ahead felt like admitting I wasn't destined for greatness. So instead I got 47 modules about "advanced funnel psychology" when I didn't even have a fucking website. I got strategies for scaling a business that didn't exist. I got solutions to problems I'd never have. Meanwhile my friend who started a simple newsletter and asked advice from someone making $500/month was actually making money. Real money. While I was still watching modules about "mindset optimization." That was when I realized - you need to learn from someone 2 steps ahead and not 20. Because the person 2 steps ahead remembers exactly where you are right now. And they can actually help you take the next step instead of trying to teach you how to fly when you haven't learned to walk. Once that realization hit me, my world changed, and I started learning from mentors who were slightly ahead of me. Fast forward to now, that's the best decision I've made. I'm making decent money and have clarity on what to do next. Sometimes, that's all you need.

Why your viral content isn't paying your bills (and how to fix it) Yesterday, I was analyzing a potential client's "viral" thread - 80 new followers - Hundreds of likes, great engagement ...But it was an empty thread. Why? Because it had no offers, lead magnets or links to his newsletter. Those 80 people will forget about him in 48 hours and will most likely never see his content or engage with it again. This is a major problem I see personal brands make. Most creators are playing the game on hard mode: Post daily→ Build audience→ Hope something happens→ Wonder why follower count ≠ revenue Big mistake. Here's what you should be doing: 1. Build an email list (Use your viral content and plug in your lead magnet to get subscribers). 2. Send 5 value-packed emails to them (builds trust). 3. Send two value-packed emails but with soft pitch. 4. Send 5 emails with hard pitch while answering every objection. That's it. This is all you need to do get sales. That same thread could have generated: ‣ 200+ email subscribers ‣ 15-20 sales of a $25 guide ‣ $375-500 in revenue instead of just vanity metrics Most creators think they need: ❌ 100K followers first ❌ A perfect course ❌ Complex funnels What you need is - ✅ One simple offer that solves a problem ✅ An email capture system ✅ Follow-up sequences that sell I've seen creators with 2K followers make more money than those with 50K. The major difference is they treat content as a customer acquisition tool, and not to boost their ego.
