I can’t believe it 🥲 2 weeks ago I crossed €6k MRR and today just hit another milestone again😅. Thanks for my study apps that been growing a bit and also a couple of freshly released apps have contributed to the success. I guess if I continue the pace I have all the chances to hit €10k MRR by the end of the year🚀

Today marks a small anniversary — 6 months of my indie app journey. Looking at my RevenueCat dashboard from back then compared to now, I couldn’t have imagined reaching this point in just half a year. In 6 months, I’ve published 23 apps, and around 80% of them haven’t even hit €100 MRR. I only recently started experimenting with paid ads and TikTok marketing, so no real results there yet — it’s been pure ASO and I'd say a huge amount of luck. For anyone starting out or already on this path: just keep shipping. Whether you go with a single app approach or multiple apps, the key to success is obvious — hard work will pay off sooner or later 🚀

It took me almost 8 months to go from $100 to $10k by just growing my apps portfolio from 2 to 28 apps! And this is only the beginning, more work ahead and more goals to chase! 🚀

Ok.. this is absolutely INSANE!!! 4 days ago I hit my €7k MRR goal... and today... I accidentally hit another one 😮. Ok, This growth is just due to weekly subs, it's just MRR and my real revenue is still behind that, I don't know whether churn/retention will be high so not sure how it'll be going further. This is the effect of having a big portfolio: a few apps started getting some traction both in iOS and Android. There's small contribution from paid ads and TikTok slideshow (for my single app), otherwise it's a good portion of luck and just regular ASO. If at least some portion of this trend will continue, I guess 10k MRR won't be unreachable.

Wow, it finally happened. 😄 Android apps’ MRR has surpassed iOS apps’. This is something I honestly didn’t expect.

Here’s my current apps MRR breakdown (the full list doesn’t even fit on the phone screen anymore 😀). It’s around €5.1k from 23 apps so far (2 more aren’t generating yet). On average, a single app brings about €220 MRR, so to hit my €10k goal I’ll need around 23 more apps (45 in total). There’s no real ad spend here—just slowly and carefully burning a small portion of money to experiment and see what works (and what doesn’t). The challenge isn’t only building that many apps, but also how tedious and sometimes boring it gets to keep printing them out one after another. That’s why I’m also trying to grow one app through TikTok and IG (slides). Hopefully once I finally hit the €10k MRR goal, I’ll be able to focus on a single app and really grow it. Will be sharing more details on that journey too.

I’ve been working at 9–5 and been building my indie dev business for 8 months now. I feel quite exhausted tbh. I’ve been sacrificing early mornings and late evenings every day to grow my business. I would’ve probably burned out a while ago if it wasn’t for one thing: I know exactly why I’m doing this, and I can already see with my own eyes that this “temporary” investment is paying off I do love my 9-5, my colleagues and atmosphere but I do understand that my 9-5 is holding me back and I can’t dedicate enough time to all my projects and ideas, which are endless. Right now, my monthly income from my indie business is about 1.5x of my 9–5 salary. I think about quitting every single day but every time, but those thoughts always run into the same questions: - What if I can’t handle it? - I have a family, two kids - can I really take such a risk? - Maybe my revenue isn’t enough yet, and I should have at least 2-3x of my current salary? Anyway, sooner or later, I’ll have to take a risky step, a step toward a dream I’ve been chasing my whole life. And it’s even more than a dream - now it’s a goal, right within my reach. This chart represents the enormous amount of work I’ve put into building my app portfolio, so understandably success doesn’t come overnight. Rather than focusing on a single app, I went with growing my portfolio instead. I know some people are skeptical about the “12 apps in 12 months” strategy, but I think this approach can work if you’re smart about it, and it can bring good benefits. In my case, whenever I’m building an app and researching an idea, I usually look at areas where I could build a single app and then reuse 80–90% of the codebase to create a similar app for another keyword in that niche. So you put a lot of effort into building a simple, single-featured but error-free, nicely designed app — and that could turn into 2–3 different apps. You’re multiplying your chances to win. And if you’re on both platforms (iOS and Android), the chances double again. As time goes by and some apps start floating, you can then decide what to do: sell them, grow with marketing/ads, or just leave them as is. Right now, I’m not only building my app portfolio but also trying to grow one app with TikTok and experimenting with ads, since these are new areas I want to explore but these experiments aren't contributing much into the revenue growth yet. But I still believe growing an app portfolio is possible (maybe not at the same pace as before) — you just need to be smart about it, not blindly vibe-code app after app.
