this concept is nuts i love it. imagine agents autonomously transfer learning from each other. you could probably mask the payload too so you don’t ever leak the training set 🤯

for mother’s day, i cloned my late grandmother and let my mom talk to her again. i didn’t have a the best audio to work with, so the clone wasn’t as precise as I hoped it would be. despite that, my mom had a cathartic experience talking to her again it wasn’t the voice—it was the memories i embedded that brought her to tears of joy. just hearing those same phrases again that she would always say. those things we would always talk about together. hearing her complain about grandpa again. this is an uncanny experience, which can be highly immersive. i soft prepped my mother for this, but i knew her well enough to know she would handle it well. some might criticize me for that. she loved me for it. this is otherworldly technology. extremely powerful. it has the potential to do incredibly good things for humanity. it is also a power we need to build much more respect and appreciation for. happy mother’s day 💕

sometimes i think about how insane it is that there is this little corner of the internet where billionaires and nerds just casually interact on a regular basis they know each other by their pseudonyms, influencing each others minds with shitposts that have probably altered the course of history more than once

at the end of the day it was always the doctors and lawyers that were going to get cooked by AI, not the engineers engineers solve problems. you can give engineers better tools and they will just solve problems better. but doctors and lawyers are memory banks. they run repeated, mandated procedures alongside inference over a knowledge base that takes years for humans to retain. their skill was never problem solving it was memorization and rule following

o3 is a sleeper. i don't think we've figured out how to prompt it correctly yet. my best o3 outputs come from long conversations of context and iteration that include multiple research and validation steps i think its reasoning level has some sort of paradoxical diminishing returns at the early points of the conversation. when you get deeper and correct for it a bit later on, it seems to reason much more effectively

i don’t get these takes. ai has only accelerated my learning rate bc i don’t have to spend hours googling stuff. whatever was lost in the old ways was certainly returned in time spent actually building things

the total number of founders is probably constrained by education. school teaches conformity and so much about founding a company is non-conformist. i don't think you can change the distribution but you can probably increase the total number of founders by rethinking education
