gpt oss: OpenAI is now showing off. They wouldn't cannibalize their existing o3 model with free open weights, unless gpt5 is going to be much better. Nice! weakness with gpt-oss i can see with my initial tests: - bad on creative writing. Far worse than Kimi 2, o3 - tau-bench shows gpt-oss-20b is noticeably worse on tool call reliability (54.8) while 120b (67.8) is on par with o3 (70.4) which is too bad. For coding agents, to be seen if 20b running on my local gpu is good enough. I'm able to load the 20b mxfp4 quant on my 4090 with lowered 90k context window (error if higher) in LM Studio, full kv cache and flash attention, 160 tps

I can feel the coding MSI. Since I've been pair programming with claude 3.7 since it was born it's cracked at writing tasteful UI. And I'm experimenting with something where in places I don't even use React, just rawdog html and JS. And while by default it made non-performant UI like drag to resize panel that feels laggy. I described the lagginess and 3.7-thinking just did it. Summary of what it did in 1 shot attached in the MSI age, frameworks matter less. No React, not even jQuery. Everything back to basics, and people with LLMs can just design, imagine and do things this brings me back to the good old days of writing isoHunt 25 years ago where there was way less abstractions. Just TURBO charged faster now - No moat - Little constraint, other than time - Your lack of imagination and (generalist) skills is my opportunity - Don't say programming is dead. I can out build, out learn, out automate all other jobs - MSI is the final abstraction

is this a joke? Compared to claude 3.7, GPT 4.5 is not even in the same league on quality yet 10x+ on price and I doubt it beats Grok 3 on qualitatively either for general purpose, full web context, based and human high IQ output

I tested all the leading LLMs on creative writing. The results surprised me. I also used multiple models as judge on quality of stylistic prose and engaging storytelling, but I'm curious to what humans think. Which of the following letters from 3 models to God is best to you?
