A lot of people are furious with @LumaLabsAI right now — and with good reason. So let’s pull back the curtain and address a few things, shall we? I was a CPP with Luma for roughly a year, and during that time I even served as a Community Ambassador for three months. I ultimately stepped down from my CA role — not just because of personal/health challenges that limited my time, but because of what I witnessed behind the scenes. Someone who wasn’t even a Community Ambassador was given access to CA spaces, and instead of conducting themselves professionally, they were consistently rude to members, Mods, and Ambassadors alike. They even created a list of Luma members who they thought "didn't belong in the CPP." And Luma staff were aware of said list, and even communicated in the CA channel about it. Worse, this person also went as far as harassing and defaming staff from another AI company — blatantly and publicly, in ways that could easily have warranted legal or law enforcement intervention. Multiple complaints were made to Luma about this individual — by subscribers, moderators, and others — and we were reassured Luma had “handled it.” Only later did we discover this individual was quietly kept on Luma’s Support team all along. Swept under the rug, like so many other things. As for their CPP, I got the same impersonal breakup email every CPP did when we were all suddenly discarded. This after giving them views, traffic, and credibility when it actually mattered. Luma was one of the first CPP programs I joined, and at one point I even generated a video that pulled over 250,000 views here on X — pure organic reach for their platform. And I wasn’t compensated for that. I wasn’t alone, either — many creators funnelled audiences, users, and paying subscribers Luma’s way. And the thanks we got? Nothing. Not a single word of appreciation. Instead, we were unceremoniously dumped in favor of influencers and marketers. It’s insulting. We were “good enough” to build their brand until they thought they could trade us in for shinier faces. Now, suddenly, the people who helped lay the foundation for their visibility and growth are treated like disposable scraps. Despite all of this, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. After my CPP ended, I put my money where my mouth was and paid for a monthly subscription, believing the platform itself was worth supporting. But after the way they’ve alienated their most loyal supporters, dismissed genuine concerns, and repeatedly shown disregard for the very community that carried them forward, I’m done. I don’t believe in them anymore, and I don’t support them. Frankly, @gravicle should be ashamed if this is the standard he's chosen to set for his company. Alienating your most loyal creators isn’t just short-sighted, it’s self-sabotage. As for Ray 3, is it good? Sure. Is it groundbreaking? That depends on who you ask. That being said, there’s something bigger, better, and far more affordable right around the corner — and when it arrives, Luma won’t just have competition; they’ll have a migration event on their hands. To Luma, I’ll say this much: Good luck — you’re going to need it.
