For a guy who’s designed thousands of tweets, Daniel’s only 'professional' title is 'not a design pro'—guess he’s just humbly moonlighting as the world’s most prolific design mentor without the paycheck!

Creating an influential thread offering step-by-step guidance to novice designers, turning his followers into a tight-knit, inspired community eager to learn from his honest and practical approach.

To inspire and elevate the design community by continuously creating, sharing valuable insights, and fostering a supportive network of learners and innovators.

Daniel believes in the power of humility, ongoing education, and authentic engagement. He values constructive feedback, diverse influences spanning brand, motion, and illustration, and respects the process of unlearning and relearning as a pathway to true mastery.

His greatest strengths lie in his generosity with advice, his relentless learning mindset, and his expertise across multiple design disciplines including web, mobile apps, motion, and illustrations. He also exhibits strong community-building skills evidenced by frequent engagement and invitations to participate in creative activities.

Daniel’s self-effacing disclaimer about not being a professional might sometimes undermine his own authority. Additionally, his heavy focus on output could occasionally lead to burnout or spreading himself too thin across projects and social interactions.

To grow his audience on X, Daniel should leverage Twitter Spaces or live design sessions to showcase his skills in real-time, boosting engagement. Curating and tweeting bite-sized design tips coupled with more personal storytelling about his journey could capture even broader attention. Collaborations with other creators he trusts would also expand his reach exponentially.

Despite claiming not to be a pro, Daniel’s impressive tweet output—over 9,700 tweets—and his detailed mentoring thread show a deeply knowledgeable and thoughtful individual who’s unafraid to guide others.

Before I get attacked I’m not a design professional or anything just sharing honest thoughts for you @AmenaiSabuwala . This is gonna be long so sit tight. Firstly you need to go into your comment section and block everyone who keeps telling you your redesign is better, it’ll take a great amount of disregard and @$$ licking for them to lie to your face like that. Now good design is certainly subjective so because we don’t know the intent of the product so we can’t accurately point out what the best decision for it would be but I can point out a lot of things you did wrong and didn’t pay attention too (spacing, typography, contrast, intent, icons, etc). I love that you’re young and getting into this space early and I started the same age as you too and I almost fell into this same trap that these guys wanna put you in and I can’t bare to watch. You’re going about your growth the wrong way. Instead of redesigning works the way you’re doing it now I advise you follow these accounts @DannPetty @leyeConnect @Tsavsar_ @dnaijatechguy @proskuaaa @spottedinprod @60fpsdesign @timxdesign @nickbakeddesign @brandbydan @idariusdan @darylginn @UfotUbon @uiuxadrian @UIbyBiba @Brett_Designer @radbar_1 @47thegreat_ @elitethedev @KMkota0 @FonsMans @ilyamiskov Just to mention a few, you can go through the people I follow you’ll see a lot of gems there too. Notice I mentioned designer that are into brand, motion, illustrations, too because it’ll help expand your horizon. Take their designs put in a Figma file, google drive folder, Pinterest board whatever you prefer. I currently started using @mymind & Pinterest can never go wrong with those combos. Study their designs, try to understand why they created their designs that way, study their coloring, typography, design decisions without context. Watch tutorials (YouTube) on color theory, typography, visual design, art direction over and over again until it sticks. Now when you observe good design from the designers I’ve mentioned and the ones I’m following you’ll be able to discern good and bad design, so you can now get inspirations from anywhere dribbble, Pinterest wherever cuz now you can tell whats okay and whats not. Now you practice, challenge yourself, build crazy stuff repeatedly, fail and try again. Continue posting what you’re working on but now you’d be doing more of your own stuff rather than redesigning others’ work. Read books and watch vids on the technicalities, business, and ux of design too. Then when it comes to feedback from posting work here, because you’ve been keeping up with the accounts i mentioned you’d be able to discern which feedbacks are helpful and the ones that are not. Also note the thing I love about the people I mentioned is that you don’t have to lick their @$$ at all please don’t do that, you’re free to disagree with their take and ask questions for the purpose of learning and not cuz you wanna soothe an ego or be like “I’m better than you because i know this and you don’t” or “I’m 100% right and the other person is wrong no matter what” always be humble and open to learning, unlearning, and relearning. They’ll engage you in meaningful and helpful conversations any day you can go through their profile and find that they’ve even answered most of your questions before. I’m not a pro or anything just lending a hand, I have no idea what your goals are either. So do you but do it the right way, hope I was able to help since my advise is very vague but it should be a stepping stool. Can’t wait to see you soar 👌

Designing physical products in @figma is very cool ngl. I redesigned Electrolyte Boot's product entirely in figma, I didn't pay much attention to details though cuz I rushed it but the next product I'll recreate would be way better. 1st frame (Mine), Right frame (Theirs)
