Chandler’s the guy who wears a hat so much in real life that no one recognizes him, but hey—he’s still riding the wave of that one ‘banger’ post like it’s his personal claim to fame. At this rate, his hat has more followers than he does IRL!

Chandler’s biggest win? Crafting the definitive ‘Utah Tech Twitter’ manifesto thread that not only educated but entertained, positioning him as an essential hub in his regional tech scene.

Chandler’s life purpose is to weave together people, ideas, and opportunities in the tech landscape, fostering collaboration and growth within his community. He aims to empower others by connecting them to the right networks that spark innovation and success.

He believes that true influence comes from genuine relationships and that sharing knowledge lifts everyone up. Chandler values transparency, community-building, and giving credit where credit is due — even if that means embracing a little friendly self-deprecation.

His biggest strength lies in his authentic ability to connect diverse personalities and foster meaningful conversations that build stronger community ties. Chandler’s energy and insider perspective make him a trusted and engaging voice in his niche.

Sometimes his high following count combined with relatively modest engagement per tweet suggests he might spread himself too thin or not tailor content enough for his audience — a classic trade-off for Connectors juggling broad networks.

To grow his audience on X, Chandler should leverage his natural connecting strengths by hosting regular Twitter Spaces featuring Utah tech founders and investors, and experiment with more interactive content like polls or AMA threads that invite his network to chime in, boosting engagement and follower loyalty.

Fun fact: Chandler’s most popular tweet, which playfully recounts Utah Tech’s Twitter ecosystem and its colorful characters, racked up nearly 7k views and sparked loads of engagement — proving he’s the local tech town crier with a knack for storytelling.

Truth is found in paradox. I just finished reading "Pattern Breakers" by @m2jr, which is premised on one of the most popularized VC/Founder contradictions: be non-consensus and right. It's a very insightful book for startup founders and investors. Here are my top three takeaways: 1. Why now? Breakout startups that change the world require an inflection point. What major market and technology change will propel the company to outlier success? Additionally, what unique hidden insight is being productized, and what specific problem does it solve? For example, Uber and Lyft were the first to leverage mobile GPS to enable ride-sharing. The hidden insight was that riders would trust a stranger for a ride, just as they would with a taxi. 2. Does the startup change the rules? Incremental improvements are not sustainable advantages, especially in technology. Eventually, incumbents copy the new entrant. Ideally, the new offering is so different or non-consensus that you break comparison and competitors are slow to recognize the market threat. Zillow changed the rules by being the first to make property valuations publicly available, information historically gatekept by brokers and appraisers. Today, most consumers start their home selling and buying experience online. They don’t need an agent to tell them how much their home might be worth or the price of the one they’re interested in buying. Zillow provides a free public estimate, and then monetizes the traffic. Suddenly, the incumbent became the disruptor's customer. 3. Implementation prototype > MVP “An MVP is the most stripped-down version of a product that can still be released and used by early adopters.” It’s functional, and people pay for it. “An implementation prototype is a step before creating your product. It seeks to validate whether your idea can become a product… they aren’t functional MVPs.” The goal is discovery and to create results that surprise you. For us, that looked like door-to-door customer surveys, interviewing possible distribution partners, closing initial customers, and doing everything on pen and paper. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll launch a pilot website to validate online customer acquisition and test various product positioning strategies. However, we are still waiting to create an MVP that would make the product experience self-service and automated. I look forward to sharing more soon!
