If you’re a UI/UX designer trying to get better by practicing and sharing your work, here are 3 tips that’ll help you. There’ll be days when you open Figma and… nothing. No ideas. No motivation. You want to design but don’t even know what to design. Here’s what to do when that happens 👇 1. Consume more than you create. You can’t design beyond your exposure. Spend time looking at good designs daily. It sharpens your eye and helps you understand what makes a design “good.” You can’t pour from an empty basket. 2. Create small, not perfect. You don’t need to make full case studies every time. Design a single screen, a homepage, a settings page, a button, anything. Just create something and share it. 3. Learn from top designers. Follow them. Study their work. Download their designs and replicate them in Figma. Pay attention to why they made certain choices; color, typography, spacing. That’s how you start thinking like a top designer too. These works for me and I'm sure they will work for you too☺️

Good design is useful design.

All you need to learn to become a good designer: Typography, hierarchy, alignment and contrast.

I had to vibe-code this to explain properly; A dev asked "what happens when the user starts typing crazy large amounts? like hundreds of thousands… millions… how does the UI handle that?" Mainly because of the font size used to display the inputed amount. So I vibe coded it. When the number gets too long, the font size automatically reduces… with a subtle little bounce. Just to show that transition. And when it gets even longer (tens of millions), it breaks again and reduces again. I know it's a small interaction detail… but you have to consider all use cases when designing.

The balance between good UI and good UX is what makes a design truly work. When you focus on one and ignore the other, the experience starts to fall apart. A beautiful interface can’t fix confusing flows. And a smooth flow can’t save a poorly designed interface. Good UI attracts attention. Good UX keeps it. Both matter. Design for how it looks and how it feels. Thanks for coming to my TED talk☺️

My favorite projects of the last 4 months. Hit or miss?

If you’re new to UI/UX design, it’s very easy to get carried away by the numbers. You come online and see people charging huge amounts for projects, or posting how much they made from design and it starts to make you feel like you’re not doing enough. But you need to always remember something, everyone started somewhere. Those designers you see closing big deals today didn’t just wake up there. They spent years building their skills, improving their reasoning, and understanding design deeply. So while it’s good to market yourself and go after opportunities, don’t neglect the place of practice. Don’t rush to sell your skill before you’ve built it. Focus on learning. Focus on understanding why designs work, not just how to make them look nice. Because honestly, the only way to truly grow financially and career-wise in this field, is to become solid at what you do. You can't earn $120k a year with mediocre design skills or knowledge. So don't pressure yourself. Build your skills and share your work, everything will fall in place for you too. ☺️

If you are a self taught UI UX designer like me, the truth is that you will feel like you are at a disadvantage sometimes. People that took bootcamps, people that have mentors, people that have tutors or a proper roadmap. They usually have someone to correct them, someone to show them certain fundamentals, someone to point out mistakes early, someone to tell you what not to waste time on. So yes, you will miss some things they will not miss. But at the same time, you are also not limited. You are not boxed into what someone else believes is acceptable or what someone else believes is standard. You have the freedom to explore, to break structure, to experiment beyond what people normally think is possible. And that is also a huge advantage. So how do you balance this? Study top designers. Learn from people who actually teach real value, who share real breakdowns, who explain why things work, not just random aesthetics. Observe what they do. Try to rebuild some of their executions. Understand their thinking, not just their visuals. This is and will always be one of the fastest ways to catch up. And if you stay consistent with that, you will compete with people who actually had mentors.

1st week of November, I got 3 leads between 2nd of November and 3rd of November. Might seem small, but it means a lot to me. God is good.🫶
