Ryan’s so deep in AI debugging that when he spots a bug in his coffee machine, he tries version controlling his morning brew—because who wouldn’t want a perfect caffeine rollout?

Successfully developed ARC-AGI 2 evaluations and led automated reliability testing for Novo Nordisk, directly influencing safer healthcare AI deployment.

Ryan's life purpose revolves around pioneering dependable AI systems that improve healthcare outcomes by ensuring models are rigorously tested and reliable before deployment. He strives to bridge cutting-edge AI research with practical, impactful applications that enhance trust in automated technologies.

He believes that AI should be treated like any scientific instrument—measured, versioned, and continuously validated against real data rather than assumptions. Integrity, precision, and transparency underpin his approach, along with a commitment to building communities that learn and grow together.

Ryan’s greatest strength lies in his analytical rigor combined with innovative thinking, enabling him to identify subtle errors and improve AI model reliability effectively. His ability to translate deep technical knowledge into accessible insights fosters meaningful community engagement.

His laser focus on technical perfection can sometimes overshadow the softer aspects of community-building and outward-facing communication, which might limit his wider audience reach at times.

To grow his audience on X, Ryan should share more behind-the-scenes stories and simplified visuals that highlight the human impact of his technical work, tapping into the community and influencer archetypes. Engaging in dialogues and collaborations will amplify his voice beyond AI specialists.

Fun fact: Despite his intense focus on complex AI evaluations and healthcare automation, Ryan rarely wins raffles but recently broke the streak at a community event, proving that even the most analytical minds can get lucky!

I’ve applied to YC four times. Never got an interview. Techstars: final round. Rejected. HF0: final interview. Rejected. I’ve been laid off. I’ve pivoted a startup ten times only to walk away. I’ve helped raise millions, only to realize it wasn’t the right fit for me. Startups are hard. Founding is harder. Trying again after failing, after burning out, after losing confidence... that’s the hardest part. For the last few years, I’ve been chasing something I couldn’t name at the time. I thought it was product-market fit. Or a big raise. Or external validation. What I’ve come to realize is: I was chasing agency. Clarity. And the ability to build something on my own terms. After everything (failed applications, near misses, layoffs, leaving companies I helped start) I went back to basics. I focused on solving real problems for real customers. I automated everything I could. I stayed lean. And I started shipping. Now I run a profitable solo AI consulting practice. High-margin, high-leverage, and fully bootstrapped. There’s a clear path to $1M/year. And more importantly: I like what I’m building and who I’m building with. I’m sharing this because I know how it feels to be in the middle of it. The rejections. The near wins. The identity crisis. The feeling that maybe it’s just not going to happen for you. But I promise: if you keep going, it can. Sometimes you don't need to get picked. Sometimes you just need to start.

Eleven million views. Elon Musk tweeting about ARC-AGI. Surreal. For the past six months, I’ve been working on ARC-AGI with @GregKamradt , President of the ARC Prize Foundation. Yesterday, our benchmark showed up in a tweet from Elon Musk. Now it’s been seen by over 11 million people. The model at the top? Grok 4. But the interesting part isn’t the model. The interesting part is that xAI built specialized versions. One of them is dedicated entirely to writing code. They took a model smarter than most humans and said: your job is to help developers debug. Like hiring Einstein to tutor algebra. This is what the future of AI actually looks like. Not general intelligence solving world hunger. Just very smart tools doing very specific jobs. A thousand tiny geniuses in your computer, each obsessed with one thing. One that’s read every medical paper ever written. One that dreams in tax code. One that turns coffee into software slightly more efficiently. ARC-AGI was designed to surface exactly this kind of signal. And now it’s helping reshape how we think about what’s next. Proud to have played a part in building it.
