It’s with great sadness we announce that John Joslin, featured in this month’s edition of OnRoute, sadly passed away on 10/9/18. John, 80, had been a taxi driver for nearly 50 years & had some brilliant stories to tell about his days behind the wheel. TPH salutes a true gentleman

Praise from a customer: I had fallen down a step at Canary Wharf and cut my head open. A taxi driver took me to Royal London Hospital for free. He was very kind, he got me a wheelchair and a glass of water. I don't know what I would have done without his help.

Customer comment: I wanted to contact you about the excellent service I received from a black cab driver. He picked me and my two boys up from hospital. I talked to him about my boys who have special needs. He was so kind and truly listened. He is a credit to the black cab trade.

Customer comment: I would like to provide very positive feedback. The driver was exceedingly courteous and pleasant taking me and my dog through very heavy traffic on Friday evening. I think the black cabs are a model to the world of what is great about London.

Customer comment: I inadvertently left my laptop in Paul's cab last night. He made a special journey to drop it off to me today despite not working. This was really above and beyond his duty and I am massively appreciative. I will always take black taxis going forward.

Positive feedback: "I'm a tour bus driver & last November my bus' GPS broke & I had to re-route because of a low bridge. A lovely taxi driver helped me to re-route out of London & even drove ahead to check the height of the bridges-he really helped me & wouldn't accept payment"

Customer comment: Sun 1 Oct about 2am I was mugged of and a black cab kindly took me home (Oxford Circus to Balham) and gave me a ticket to pay when I got my cards back. I've managed to lose that ticket and don't know how to pay him back. I know the amount and time. Was this you?

The first ever Knowledge Cup football tournament for charity was held at the E4 Knowledge school in Chingford today. Great afternoon. Everton Thomas' team from BKS school beat E4 in the final. Knowledge Manager Katie Chennells and two examiners attended and handed out the cup 🏆

🎊Good news story🎊On 23 July, a passenger left their phone in a taxi cab from Euston to Waterloo circa 16:00 & the driver immediately posted it to them via recorded delivery. The passenger would very much like to say thanks, so if you’re the driver please get in touch with us!

Customer: We had a really pleasant journey home. My partner left his phone in the back seat of the cab. Our driver was helpful and considerate - he didn't ask for any money to return the phone to us. We were both so impressed by his professionalism, consideration and kindness.

We’ve started a phased recommencement of KOL appearances at 210-212 Baker Street, with the first appearances taking place on 15 June. Every effort has been made to reduce the risk to staff & candidates, who will be contacted to book their appearances

Taxis and designated wheelchair-accessible private hire vehicles have a legal duty to carry wheelchair 🦽 users in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. This includes a duty to provide mobility assistance without additional charge.

Nigel: In the morning peak, cyclists now make up the majority of vehicles travelling across Blackfriars Bridge.

Customer comment: I left my phone in Steve’s cab, this contained my cash cards driving license, everything!! After calling the phone Steve reassured me & the next day went out of his way to deliver the phone and saved me all manner of problems. A top man who I can’t thank enough!

The language used in this video is disturbing and unacceptable . We are trying to establish the identity of the driver and will take appropriate action if we are able to do so.

Drivers convicted or cautioned for touting under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 will have their licence revoked.

🎉 Congratulations to Mohamed B 🎉- our youngest taxi driver ... Who passed the Knowledge of London in 2 years at age 20. He had to wait for his 21st birthday to collect his badge. We wish him well in the future.
