I recently closed a 12 month partnership for social media management. It's a £30k order for my small biz which is great. Here are my notes on the process of a project like this: How do I get a lead like this? LinkedIn search. But I didn't DM. The lead had their mobile number on their profile so I dropped them a whatsapp. Lead even mentioned that he doesn't read LinkedIn DM's. LESSON IN THERE What was the process? Simple. I just mentioned what I was doing now. No silly hormozi offer or 90 DAY EXPLOSION STRATEGY. I literally just said "It would be great to catch up and see if there is anything we could work on together as I have a marketing agency now." We set up a zoom for later that week. What happened before the call? I had slides prepped (I didn't use them). The client saw my super basic Video Sales Letter on my website. No flashy nonsense, no script. I think its like 2/10 as its more like a resume than a VSL but it's a start until I get better and spend time on a more professional one. Also it worked because it shares who I work with. Lesson: Just get the building blocks of something completed. Also get case studies and testimonials as a priority. What happened on the call? Brief intro's and an informal chat to suss me out. I did a ton of listening before speaking. It was great timing as they were revamping their website and have no marketing dept (perfect for me). I provide a one stop shop for a small biz like that (30 people, mostly engineers/techies). What happened next? I visited them in person and presented what I do in front of the other stakeholders. I priced the job as a partnership as they wanted to work with someone long term (their words). Makes sense for them and provides security for me. Why they wanted to work with me? - My reputation. I am honest, I do my best and I am trustworthy. This can't be faked and i've built this up over a long career. - I am not salesy. I don't do any tricks. I say what I do in a matter of fact way and who I help and how i've helped them. My industry has awful sales people in it. I stand out by being normal. - I know my place. I didn't promise anything crazy. I even said that this is prob something they can do themselves but this way you guys have more time to spend on projects (they loved that). Humility, honesty, confidence in what you do and being polite goes a long way in this world of sales liars and online frauds. P.S. I'll do more just documenting what I do if this helps. P.P.S.
