On exploring the mind: When I was younger, I realized that anything you push and explore will expand and reorder itself to reveal answers. However, this path is tricky. If you rely solely on your consciousness to guide the way, a single misstep can lead you astray. I studied Carl Jung and discovered that dreams are a doorway to self-knowledge, and that self-knowledge, in turn, is a pathway to universal truth. Surprisingly, despite many unexplainable experiences and insights, my biggest takeaway has been that action and insight must go hand in hand—otherwise, neither is of much use.

There is a natural move towards both decay and complexity. Your choice to focus must then both speed up complexity (consciousness and evolution) and then move decay in the same way. This is the sense of tension and growth one feels when they engage in spiritual, personal growth in some form.

I'm in Tokyo now and I discovered a new onsen style sauna in Shibuya. They are called 'Shibuya Saunas' and main thing for many westerners to know is they allow tattoos. As many places in Japan, everything is a bit small and intricately designed. As also common in Japan, the design and overall aesthetics is something to admire. They have a 'sound bath' room which is, basically a sauna room, with a great speaker system and curated mixes. The current mix being looped is by Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius), and I was in the sauna when Aphex twin (Selected Ambient Works 85-92 track 5) was playing… which probably no one in the room knew who Keigo Oyamada was or Aphex Twin. I felt lucky, giddy, and, just how life is weird. I randomly found this sauna, they are cool enough to have mixes by Cornelius… and Aphex Twin is playing? that is the weirdness of Tokyo. Anyways, anyone visiting Tokyo who enjoy saunas, Cornelius, and Aphex Twin stop by Shibuya Saunas. they have mostly sauna rooms, a few cold pool/plunges and then a cafe. Everything is beautiful and tranquil. Btw - when I googled Keigo Oyamada while writing this, his playlist for the sauna pops up at top of the page so it must be relevant or popular at least in googles eyes.

I’m currently coasting between three countries, mainly moving between three spots: New York, Bangkok, and Tokyo. I need to keep moving, or I’ll lose my mind. NYC: New York is my home, and it’s filled with people who understand the bigger world—some even remember when the city was a wild and crazy place. The culture has changed so much in the last 15 years; it’s not what it used to be. I’m not sure if it’s me, but it seems harder to strike up conversations than it used to be. I feel I need to leave to regain a sense of myself and my future. Bangkok: This is where I go to heal. I can relax and find my natural rhythm. Something about the place allows me to feel my life more deeply. I can talk with women easily there, and I feel more connected to the natural flow of things. I often feel blessed when I’m there. Tokyo: feels both lonely and inspiring. There are moments of feeling alone and foreign, but at other times, I feel deeply connected and transfixed. Japan seems deflated and a bit sad, like a nation that has agreed to keep running despite no longer having a clear future. Still, there’s something there that I feel I need.

Ten years ago, we entered a post-truth era where reality was no longer solid or a practical way to engage. It was not the best tool. Now, we have entered a multi-lens era. Realities, paths, and true or false claims all shift in and out of view, depending on: who knows.
