irys is an under radar kaito leaderboard gem i was in the shower thinking: why there is no hype PVP in @irys_xyz leaderboards and came to one simple conclusion ‣ no reward announcement yappers swarm for drops like bears for honey (and sunday's market is not greeny), so big time KOLs flood the boards and you’re left in the dust but why doesn't irys chase that traffic? - - - 1. it's way too early we just glimpsed irys’s ecosystem, mostly infra (speaking about tier-1 projects like base, polygon, eclipse), not that much of irys's own Dapps themselves 2. revenue model isn’t about users, it’s about devs for example, infinex and newton rake in fees from users, so they need eyeballs and hype to push volume, rewards make sense the irys team gets that a regular user isn’t gonna store a ton of gigabytes (maybe even terabytes) of data, so they go back to chain devs and offer partnerships - and they make their money from the total data stored on their servers even @ripchillpill said the idea of a datachain sounds really boring for yappers, but think of it like owning a warehouse logistics biz it’s boring, but profitable as hell, because every chain needs somewhere to store its data - you’re not selling ore, you’re selling pickaxes to mine that ore - - - we’ll probably get a kaito-style reward drop eventually, but not for a while maybe late august at the earliest, when they have finished building their core base of projects and community, like mitosis did back in the day what do you think about it? p.s. i really wrote this in the shower

Anything specific that attracted you (people, tech, etc)? - At that time, I worked at [redacted] And at first I didn’t want to hop on Irys because I was happy at my place, but I was convinced I took the call with Josh, and I gotta say - he had one of the most impressive conversations I’ve had with anyone in the space The amount of conviction that he had with what we’re now building is off the charts When I talked with Josh, it all came down to the fact that we are building the protocol for the internet - censorship-resistant, allowing users and companies to make money by selling the data they want to sell So it was a no-brainer 4. Can you give us your tips on how you balance your life/work? - Oh man, I wish I knew When you find something that you love - there’s not that much of a balance I have the support from close friends in and out of crypto, and they are okay with the amount of work I do Of course, you gotta let go of the stress via physical activities (like runs, basketball, lifts). I also love to cook and play games (but I don’t have that much time for it hehe) To be honest with you, there is not that much of a work/life balance right now If you wanna have something lasting, make it work and have a balance - it is really tough A couple of things: 1. You gotta be consistently active (this is what we’ve gone through the past couple of weeks in the team) 2. You need to understand the competition, narratives, what is working and not, market psychology That’s a lot. If you’re not constantly plugged in and not getting better - you’re not gonna make it But if you do all of that - you're gonna make it 5. You have mentioned marketing. Is there any book that helped you with it? - There’s not like one silver bullet One of the first things I did really early on was listening to long-form podcasts like Tim Ferriss, Chris Dixon Dixon’s book Read Write Own was actually helpful for better understanding the thesis behind crypto - like a nice intro for going deeper (but not that deep) Classic approach - read whitepapers (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Avalanche, L2s, etc.) You might not understand everything at first, and that’s okay If you’re a maxi - you should read counter-narratives ETH maxi should understand Solana well Solana maxi should understand ETH well The more you read - the more you understand, the faster you level up. This is the game of discipline 6. What’s the biggest challenge in scaling Irys right now? - The way that I’m looking at this is: There are controllables and uncontrollables. it’s been 5 months since i started helping @irys_xyz grow and a few days ago, i officially became a big punk! through this time, i’ve tried it all: - content creator - regional mod - X spaces host - BD (outreach & collabs with projects) - and many more (honestly can’t even remember all of them lol) what irys managed to build in testnet phase - most ecosystems can’t achieve even after years of mainnet: - 70+ partnerships signed with projects - 1.13B+ transactions processed - 30+ ambassadors and team members from all around the world no matter how you look at it, the future belongs to infra projects - hirys (✧ᴗ✧)

i have no idea how people think that @HyperliquidX is dead it is still one of the biggest runner-up ecosystems in crypto that pulls in millions of dollars in revenue they are building a platform that people use and prefer over the average CEXs (like binance) and they just casually airdrop a 5 figs NFT airdrop to their early supporters HL has all the chances to become as big as SOL and get ETFs on it long live hyperliquid
