📝 An Open Letter to the Monad Team I’ve seen a lot of speculation that the Monad airdrop claim might open soon. That’s why I wanted to share my thoughts on something I believe could be a historic move for Monad. 👉 Rewarding testnet users. First, let me acknowledge the obvious: @monad has executed at a level few chains ever do on testnet. • 311M+ wallets • 2.8B+ transactions • 41M+ blocks produced • hundreds of high-quality projects already building All these are on testnet, but that’s momentum most projects never reach. And monad isn’t starting from zero. • Day one infra: Circle, BitGo, Chainlink, and MetaMask are already confirmed. • Ecosystem funding: Projects are raising millions (Kuru $11.6M, Perpl $9.25M, Magma Staking $3.9M, Opinion Labs $5M, Drake $1M). • Strong backing: Monad raised $244M and even acquired Portal to bring full-stack stablecoin payments infra. • Community focus: Residency programs, Monad Momentum, Monad card, and onboarding the Sappy Seals, Pudgy Penguins, Chimpers, Moonbirds and Meebits community. So capital, infra, and builders are already in place. The missing piece is “Grassroots alignment”. Here’s why I believe rewarding testers makes sense: • Trust & community alignment: Testers are one of the earliest believers. Rewarding them shows monad values grassroots effort. • Stronger launch narrative: A fair tester airdrop would create a wave of organic support at mainnet. • Skin in the game: When testers are rewarded, they become long-term holders and evangelists. That’s how ecosystems build loyalty. Of course, I also understand the challenge: filtering bots out of 311M+ wallets isn’t easy. But if there’s any team that can design a system to reward real testers without being farmed, it’s monad. It won’t be perfect, but it can be fair. The downside of rewarding testers? Yes, there’s some risk of inefficiency in distribution. The upside? Monad cements itself as an L1 that’s not only backed by capital and infra, but by the very community that stress-tested it. That upside outweighs everything else. I believe in monad, and I know the team values the community. Whatever decision is made, I’ll keep supporting. But as someone who has lived the testnet grind and published a testnet guide on over 100 protocols on monad, I think this is worth saying: 👉 Reward the testers.
