Wilbert’s tweet count is so high, even the Twitter servers must wonder if he’s single-handedly trying to keep their uptime stable. Maybe one day he’ll realize quieter waters also attract fish—just fewer notifications though.

Wilbert’s biggest win is successfully pivoting his startup to create Poodle, an email API that stands out by genuinely addressing the pain points of product engineers, all while rallying an enthusiastic and supportive #buildinpublic community behind him.

To empower product engineers by delivering straightforward, dependable solutions while fostering a transparent, supportive ecosystem through open communication and community engagement.

Wilbert believes in the power of honesty, collaboration, and bootstrapping to build sustainable startups. He values meaningful connections over flashy marketing, simplicity in product design, and the strength that comes from shared journeys and mutual support.

His key strengths lie in authentic networking, transparent communication, and a genuine commitment to community support that turns followers into collaborators and advocates.

Wilbert can sometimes get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of engagement and the pressure to maintain constant communication, which risks causing burnout or diluting his messaging focus.

To grow his audience on X, Wilbert should harness his natural connector instincts by initiating more engaging Twitter Spaces, collaborative threads, and spotlighting community stories. Using targeted hashtags and interactive polls will amplify his reach and deepen active participation.

Fun fact: Despite tweeting over 18,500 times, Wilbert makes sure each message adds value to his community—whether it's celebrating a new product launch, sharing lessons learned, or giving shoutouts to fellow makers.

I just tried @Hetzner_Online and here's what I got 🥲 Just so you know, I registered with a business email. Not sure what's wrong on my side. Has anyone #buildinpublic had the same experience?

I admit it, @dannypostmaa is a crazy-rich indie maker. I reached out to him because I realized I haven't bought his SEO course. Well, I've been a big fan of him for a long time, so I was a little bit nervous. Casually, I asked whether his SEO course could help me market my stuff better in this crowded market. With no sales tricks, he just gave it for FREE ✨ You read it right. $89 (and more) worth of values that he gave without a paywall! 💥 I can't wait to dive in and see how it works out! Thank you so much, Danny! 🙏

I'm pivoting Lavish 💫 I almost burned out while working on it. It's a mix of excitement – the tech, @stripe notifications, conversations with customers – but also, churn. Until today, I always thought that churn was destructing. It's not. Not even close. What's more damaging is customers pulling us in different directions. And the implications are obnoxious. → Start by adding more features → The product starts to get bloated → The startup becomes hard to market → The product-market fit drifts further away It took some time to internalize it, and one fine afternoon... I finally got it. Lavish shouldn't be an email marketing platform. Instead, it should be an API. Yes, an email API platform, so anyone can build whatever they want on top of the API. That sounded great, but I didn't act on it for a while. I let that idea sit in my head while running Lavish. But suddenly on the other day, all the painful memories about email API came flooding back. • The lengthy verification process • Random account suspension with no support • Bad developer experience • Unstable deliverability • You name it! I've been there myself, and so have some friends. And at some point, I decided to take the leap. Introducing Poodle – usepoodle.com ✨🐩 It's an email API for busy product engineers. You can make anything with it, literally. Transactional emails? All set! Everything you can imagine to send emails, we've got your back! The end goal is to let you set things up quickly, so that you can get back to shipping. And I know, there are so many email APIs on the planet. Here's what makes Poodle different: – We are totally bootstrapped – We don't aim to capture the whole market – We build upon simplicity, reliability, and speed – We are here to serve product engineers as long as we can – ... and many more Well well well 🎶, we are just getting started! I can't wait to see what you'll be making with Poodle. As always, please don't hesitate to ping me if you have any feedback. P.S. Even though I'm a bootstrapped founder, I wouldn't be here without the strong #buildinpublic community behind me. • The crazy-rich @dannypostmaa and his SEO course • The mindful @DmytroKrasun (trying to fix the ICP here) • The algo cracker @d4m1n (there is 'literally' here) 😅 • The boilerplate guy @poppacalypse • The accountability buddy @lululi_lululi • ... and you. Yes, you! Thank you all for supporting my journey. You are AWESOME! 💥

Today, I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on for the past few months ✨ I call it Lavish / lavish.so Like everyone else, I made Lavish because I was frustrated with the email marketing tools out there. They were complex, hard to use, and charged so much money just because they could. I’m working to flip the script. I believe we deserve a simple and powerful tool to send emails. A minimal, zen environment to write emails and a few clicks to send them out. All without worrying about hitting limits. That’s what I’ve done so far with Lavish. It’s literally day one here – the work has just begun. So please try it and let me know if you have any feedback. I’ll truly appreciate it. Also, I’d be grateful if you could spread the word to those who might need it. Your support means the world to me! If you’ve read this far, thank you so much for your attention. I can’t wait to see you on board :)

I have been working on Lavish around 3 months, but I realized I haven't launched it on product discovery platforms like @ProductHunt Well, I also heard horrible stories from indies that had not been covered. Is @UneedLists the go-to indie platform for launching these days?

I'm glad to announce that Feedbackpaw has been acquired by @hugovanderhorst 🎉 Hugo has a good roadmap on what to do next, so I believe he'll cook interesting things with it. Here's a quick flashback to what happened: - Hugo DMed me and asked to acquire Feedbackpaw - I said

So.., #buildinpublic is dead now? I saw more people took off their craft and preferred to build in private (stealth mode). Which side are you on? As the velocity to make a new product becomes faster, the marketing part becomes harder. What do you think?
