“It is easy to build a community based on unsustainable incentives.” This is true. That’s why it’s so hard to build the Monad Community. From the outside, it might be difficult to understand what’s going on in here. For all you know, it’s just another community with farmers ready to dump the project post-launch—nothing to gain but the “unsustainable incentives”. I get it. Your experiences with most crypto communities tell you that and it’s valid. Why should this one be any different? --- I believe a lot of people start out wanting to give a shot at the chance of getting “the incentives”. 'Cause what’s the point of joining a community if you don’t get anything out of it? And these “incentives,” while not promised, are so shiny… easy to see. But then you start to have fun, make friends, pick up new skills or old ones you abandoned years ago and show them to the world while your friends are there to support, give feedback and share knowledge. You keep pushing yourself to grow in the space. At the same time you’re also growing as a person. You start to realise there’s more to it than just “the incentives.” Things start to change: from online friends to IRL friends…from IRL friends to close friends. The new connections you make open many doors. Your friends start getting commissions for their work and hired by different projects. Many use the knowledge they’ve gained in the space to build their own brands, start their own projects, sub-communities and movements. You use their achievements as inspiration, push yourself hard and achieve beyond what you ever thought you could. You look back and realise how profound this journey has been… how it has transformed your life. Now, you understand what it means when people say they love Monad and that there are endless opportunities in this community. --- Not everyone will have the same journey. This is just an example of what’s possible. Just like any achievement in life, you need to put in time and effort. Not everyone will “make it,” but the chance is zero if you don’t try. So, yes, it is easy to build a community based on unsustainable incentives. But that’s not a real community. A real community provides opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else—things that can’t be replaced. We’re building something very real here and even though it’s far away from perfect, we’re doing our best to improve it every day… …so that no matter what happens in the end, you can look back and say, “I have gained a lot and it was so much fun.”
