Why did no one tell me credit card debt just dies with you? My grandma died with like 30k of credit card debt. My mom called the credit card companies and was like “yeah she’s dead she can’t pay this” and they were just like “okay.” And that was that.

Well, I tried to tell the courts multiple times I can’t do jury duty cuz I’m pregnant and the full time care taker to our one year old, and they seem to not care, so me and the kiddo are pulling up to jury duty tomorrow, I literally told them MULTIPLE TIMES I don’t have child care lmao, so I guess we just have to drive there and get dismissed. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Because it costs $30 for me, my husband, and a toddler who gets like 4 chicken nuggets to eat there now. If we’re gonna spend $30 on dinner that’s fast food, at that point, we’ll just spend $35 and go to the local Mexican joint.

I’m by no means a marriage expert, but I see people in newer marriages struggling, and I wish they can get it through your head what I had to learn. Your husband can’t read your mind. He’s also a man. He doesn’t have the same instincts as you. You need to be very specific if you want something done. “Can you please get the kid dressed? Can you please help me pick this up? Can you please grab him this specific snack?” Communicating basic needs even if it seems silly. Men genuinely don’t get it. This isn’t a knock on my husband. He’s working 10 hours a day, he doesn’t have the same structure and systems down that I do when it comes to stuff around the home or the kid. I also think in general they just don’t have the same instincts. We are women, they are men, this is life.

I literally had to tell my co worker (19, male) something similar when he was telling me how he took meds for social anxiety. I feel I can be a bit mean to this kid because he needs a proper mother figure so I don’t mind telling him the truth. I told him, so a doctor gave you meds because you feel uncomfortable talking to people sometimes??? Kid, that’s just life. You’re never gonna get better at talking to people if you don’t just talk to people. Sometimes stuff is awkward. Who cares. Don’t dwell on it so much. A girl rejects you? Who cares. There’s other girls. Gotta toughen up a little but my guy. He doesn’t take his meds anymore, and he’s perfectly fine btw. 😬🙏🏼

Me and husband just did the math, and it’s really not even worth it to buy a used car anymore. We specifically did the math on a Chevy Traverse, looking at mileage on ones that are priced 20-25k, versus 2026 off the lot zero miles (45k)…. Either get a car with 100,000 miles already, or pay and extra 20k, have an extra 6-7 years with the car (we would put about 10-15k miles a year on a car, so would take about that long to hit 100k) By the time you’re done with 4-5 years of payments you have a paid off car that yes will need repairs, OR you have a not paid off car that still needs repairs lol. Just saying, don’t judge young couple who seem to be driving a car “out of their budget” cuz trust me it doesn’t even seem worth it anymore to get used. Obviously if you’re driving an SUV that’s 100k off the lot that’s different lol but otherwise, for any off the lot car in the 45k range off the lot, 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

We won’t have the most money in the bank account We’ll never drive the fancy 100k SUV We’ll constantly be needing to fix something in our house that seems to always be falling apart Simply getting by for now, bills paid and food on the table. But boy, am I glad this isn’t my life 💔💔💔 My son is only ever with me, his dad, or grandparents. I’m so grateful I get to be with him mostly everyday…. It’s worth every sacrifice

I’ve never heard very many people complain about the WIC program like they do food stamps. I think this is partially cuz everyone on WIC has children, and people don’t necessarily mind helping kids even if the parents are freeloaders. You also can only get very specific foods with WIC. So why not just make EBT structured how WIC is? A certain amount of $$ every month for specific things. Fruit/veggies, meats (chicken, ground beef and fish only. No reason for steak.) Eggs, Milk, very specific breads & cereals like WIC offers. Rice, beans, nut/nut butters, and sure people can have a couple bucks a month for seasonings. If you have diet restrictions (dairy free, vegetarian, whatever) you can have more money allocated for substitutes like almond milk or more beans and nuts. This isn’t really rocket science & I don’t think people would be as upset if their tax payer money wasn’t funding your Little Debbie’s & Pepsi’s 🤷🏼‍♀️

We need to stop telling people the best thing they can do is get married early and have kids, and then also shaming them when they talk about the struggles financially. Reality check, if you get married in your early 20’s, your husband probably won’t be bringing home a 6 figure salary. He will probably be bringing home 40-60k a year. Especially if your husband is blue collar, it takes years in the trades to make 6 figures, even over $30 an hour. Straight out of college, average starting salary is around the same. My step dad didn’t start making over $40 an hour in the trades till his 50’s. These things take TIME. You will probably struggle when you’re young with children. You will be pinching pennies for a long time. No one talks about this, but it’s the reality of life.

If my son got a girl knocked up when he was 16 or whatever, I’d encourage them to keep the baby. I’d offer them a place to live rent free. Of course he’d need to get a job and do most of the supporting but little things we would help with. I’d absolutely watch the baby while they finished school or went to work. That’s my grandkid! Hand them over. When I say I wouldn’t want my children or their girlfriends to get an abortion, I mean it. It’s still their decision but I really think, if the right help is offered most women wouldn’t get one.

Kiddo is perfectly content playing alone with chalk, I’m right here if he needs me & of course if he talks / communicates with me I’m not gonna ignore him. Then he decides to play with a stick But no, I don’t need to be down there playing chalk WITH him. This is what people mean by not playing with your kids. No one is saying ignore your kids.
