Today I resigned from my job in Singapore. I will need to serve 2 months notice now. I know some might say it's a stupid decision but well maybe yeah. I will be starting a software development company (name and country TBD). I will also focus on building products that I want. I will also go wherever I want without needing permission for leaves. For 1 year I will try my best, And worst case scenario if nothing works then I will again to a full-time job and do this as a side hustle. wish me luck :) #buildinpublic
Last year I did 12 startups in 12 months. Here are the results. I am sharing this because a lot of people want to do the same or thought of doing this. This might help them see how it may turn out. Total Revenue - $130K+ 8 made some revenue. 2 got acquired. Rest of them failed. (Product that worked are still generating revenue) Do not wait. Just move and launch sh*t. Also, do not get attached to your failed product. If even after trying for so long it's not working. Just shut it down or look to sell it for cheap to reduce your operational costs on it. Also, I haven't updated some of my new products yet in the list. #buildinpublic

Buyer of BoilerCode now refusing to complete the acquisition even after 7 months. This January, I sold BoilerCode on @acquiredotcom for $20K. Buyer did all the due diligence, had access to Google Analytics, LemonSqueezy for all the verifications. My Initial listing was for $25K on Acquire but we negotiated for $20K and the acquisition had 7 milestones total. I think my biggest mistake was that I accepted the milestone deal. Milestones were Milestone 1 - $10K upfront payment Milestones 2 to 5 - I will help them launch 4 boilerplates Milestones 6 - I will document this journey on my Twitter as Build in Public. Milestone 7 - Once all the milestones are closed, Everything will be completed After the 1st milestone, I helped them develop 4 new boilerplates and helped them launch on Product Hunt. Milestones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 were completed. For the tweets about Build in public, they requested if I can hold off on tweets until they launch a new product which I agreed to because I also wanted to help them with their new product. Everything was good and their behavior was also fine. They told me that they were working on a new product and asked if I could help them develop some part of the product (outside of that acquisition deal), it was different software development work so I agreed that I would do that. For this new development I told them I will need to do some research on couple of things before giving them the exact cost for the development and I with one of their team members started discussing couple of things on how we can do that. That member of their company then said that they would pay $3K for this development work which I told them this work requires more effort and will take more than that to which that member of their company said that they would have another call with me and their founder to set the cost of that dev work. When we were on the call, I told them this dev work would cost $6K to which the founder of the company started telling why I didn't tell this at the beginning which I responded that the current meeting was supposed to be to set the cost of the development and after that, his behavior changed completely. He started bashing that I have to give them a low price because they "already paid $20K". How is this Dev work part of the acquisition? It's not in the contract and APA. I told them that $6K is the starting cost that I charge for dev work and then he started trashing UniqueSide as well. Then he started telling me I sold them a bad product because they were not able to generate much revenue after the acquisition. After a couple of days, they removed me from their company Slack and completely ghosted me. After the acquisition, I kept telling them to market it and especially on Twitter (they knew that most of the BoilerCode customers came from Twitter). After the acquisition they didn't even mention BoilerCode after the acquisition announcement. If they failed to market it properly after the acquisition, How is this my fault? It's been 7 months and I still did not get the full payment of the acquisition. Last 2 milestones which was - 10 tweets about building in public journey when working on their product. - Complete the rest of the milestones. In the beginning of July, I emailed Escrow support and told them everything. They said they could not give me any advice as they are neutral party in this and asked me if I can mark the milestone as completed and buyer could accept or reject it. In the beginning of July, I marked the last milestone as completed but didn't hear anything. Today I contacted escrow again to contact the buyer. Buyer told escrow that they will not be accepting the last 2 milestones. I mean WTF. And now I don't know what else to do. I lost 7 months of BoilerCode. I could have easily generated this much revenue myself. I didn't want to post against anyone and that's why I waited this much but now I can't wait. This is the worst experience I faced with any company. Please advice on what to do because I have no idea how to proceed. #buildinpublic
