here is my vibe coding stack october 2025 1. Cursor - My HQ for every app idea - BugBot for code review before deploys 2. Codex CLI - Replaced Claude Code for me - MCPs feel clunky but GPT-5 is gold 3. Vercel - Deploy + host projects easily - Killer ecosystem, zero probs ever 4. GitHub - Perfect for auto deploys + code reviews - Brings together the ecosystem 5. Tailwind + Shadcn Components - Splurged on Tailwind Plus for template blocks - Shadcn is basically a designer in your pocket 6. Supabase - Not cheap but fantastic ecosystem - Database + auth + storage is what I use mostly 7. Convex - New addition, testing this month - Could replace Supabase entirely next month Most of this cost you nothing (unless you go Pro/Plus). Cursor isn't the cheapest but there's many alternatives. Now go build!

sonnet 4.5 was trash when it dropped I tried it and felt like an idiot watching it fumble basic stuff that gpt-5-high would nail instantly but then I cracked the code and now sonnet is performing FLAWLESSLY here’s the secret: frontier thinking models create the plan (gpt-5-high does this beautifully) then sonnet executes like a machine my workflow now: cursor plan mode → save plan → sonnet implements → gpt-5 validates plan can execute in CC or Cursor, both works we’re entering the era of model orchestration and whoever ships a native combo of planner + executor first is gonna print money

the most annoying thing about using Convex as your database is how obviously better it makes your apps and coding experience it forces me to, over time, refactor every single one of my projects away from supabase and neon

terminal coders won't survive I don't care if this is unpopular - pure CLIs like Claude Code, Codex, and Droid are dead on arrival unless they build REAL development tools I have to believe that this is their ultimate goal, and the CLI is just a way to prove their business model, get user-base, and ultimately level up you can't become a system-aware AI engineer when you're flying blind without a file tree and multiple tabs open to reference your work fight me on this if you want to

Cursor is #1 for a reason You get what you pay for. The team is insanely active on X, fixes bugs fast, ships features people want, and actually innovates while others copy. People only complain about the price. Fair, it’s not for everyone. But you don’t cry about someone’s Lambo if you drive a BMW, right? So why bash Cursor? 🤷

I can't believe I'm saying this, but... I see Sonnet 4.5 and GPT-5 in my future it's almost like they're designed to be used together here's what I mean: GPT-5 is INSANE for planning and breaking down complex problems - you can nearly blindly trust it with actually solving things but when it comes to executing on those plans with actual code? Sonnet 4.5 just BUILDS so much faster and is super interactive (= fun) I've been bouncing between them for the past two weeks and the workflow like this: GPT-5-High maps out the architecture and logic with Cursor's new plan mode, then Sonnet 4.5 (non-thinking unless you're balling) writes the implementation, tests, and iterates until it's done they complement each other in ways that feel... intentional? it's almost like OpenAI and Anthropic both know their strengths and they're not even competing on the same axis anymore am gonna keep testing this combo but if you're only using one model right now you're leaving either INTELLIGENCE or SPEED on the table
