Somebody once commented under one of my “content strategy” posts saying it’s almost useless to hire a Social Media Manager when there’s already a Content Strategist. Honestly, that doesn’t sound professional at all. And I could tell the comment came from someone who thinks content strategy means “creating content calendars.” 📍 A Social Media Manager is not a Content Strategist. Let’s clear this up. There’s a difference between these two digital skills, and if you still describe a skill with the word “niche”, you might doubt me for now. 🤣 So here’s the difference: 👇 ➠ The Content Strategist A content strategist is the person who designs the big picture of the brand it's digital media presence. They figure out: → Why content should exist in the first place → Who it’s meant for → What format it should take → And how it moves the brand closer to its goals Their job is planning → building pillars, mapping out calendars, defining the brand voice, and ensuring everything connects to a clear outcome. You can call them the architect drawing the blueprint before construction begins.

Everyone, almost everyone, now has “content strategist" on their bios but a few knows exactly what they are doing. Others think a content strategist is a pro writer But that's not what the role is about Understanding what a Content Strategy really is should be the first step to clarity. Content Strategy is not just about posting consistently or making your feed look pretty. It’s about being intentional, knowing why you’re creating, who it’s for, and what result you want from it. Sometimes, a content strategy could run for a week, maybe for a campaign or launch. Other times, it’s planned quarterly or yearly, when brands want long-term growth. The goal isn’t to follow trends. I think I found what could save you from "Writer's Block". Especially the aspect of running out of content ideas for your personal brand (hehe) Make Reddit and Pinterest your friend too. It might not be your best friend but keep it close. → Reddit: To find problems and solutions you could talk about relating to your skillset and niches. → Pinterest: Could serve as YouTube's sister. Most times it exposes me to fresh ideas and a lot I didn't know about both the problems and the solutions relating to my skillset. I hope this helps tho. Btw, Pinterest is so therapeutic and its algorithm needs to be studied.🤣
