Ben’s social strategy is like an indie app nobody downloads: solid core, niche appeal, but maybe a catchy marketing slogan wouldn’t hurt to lure in the masses beyond his close circle.

Successfully transitioned from a decade of freelance Android development into building his own projects like Youtilitics, showing adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit despite hurdles.

Ben’s life purpose is to create and nurture a collaborative community around indie app development, leveraging his experience to bridge gaps between developers and helpful tools, while maintaining authenticity and steady progress.

He believes in the power of honest communication, learning from peers, and supporting one another through transparent sharing of challenges and solutions. Ben values persistence, practicality, and mutual aid in the indie dev world.

His greatest strength lies in his genuine engagement and ability to connect with peers by asking meaningful questions and sharing useful insights, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

Ben’s modest follower count and low retweet numbers suggest his visibility and amplification could use a boost — sometimes his quiet approach might keep his valuable voice in the shadows.

To grow his audience on X, Ben should mix more storytelling about his indie journey with targeted engagement: join trending tech chats, share actionable insights, and spotlight small wins to attract and retain followers eager for behind-the-scenes indie dev tales.

Fun fact: Despite running apps like Liche with no revenue, Ben stays committed to using and improving his creations, showing true passion beyond just profit.

how do you know when you're being a quitter and when you fall into the sunk cost trap? I've been working on my project for the past year-ish, part time (like 5-15h per week max). so not a big project, but not small either I've got a few paid customers but much fewer than I expected I've talked to friends about it and they're out of its niche so not really interested the paid customers are happy and make it look like the product should get more traction I tried SEO - initially thin content and not indexed, I created a lot of pSEO pages and some content, with and without AI - indexing worked, but I get only about 3 clicks a day landing - it must be version 50 of the landing, from my own feedback, friends, including marketing specialists - volume is low so hard to get any metric on conversion social media - I hate TikTok, fb and insta with a passion. I created accounts and tried to post content but too painful for me - zero traction social media (2) - I love X and post a bit on it. I created a python script to scrape the reddit api on some subreddits, send this to ollama for analysis and email me matches - x didn't get any traction but reddit did. very low though so now I'm at a post where - I want to quit to avoid the sunk cost trap, cut my losses and move on - I want to continue because I think there is potential and I'm not a quitter how do you know when to stop? note: I don't *need* the money, but it is one of the main goals. no runway issue.
