Austin tweets more daily than Tesla’s software updates, proving that if brevity is the soul of wit, he’s ambitiously trying to fit a whole novel into each day’s feed—sometimes forgetting not everyone signed up for his 15,000-tweet autobiography.

Austin’s tweet about Tesla’s pricing deals hit over 270,000 views, sparking viral conversations and cementing his status as a go-to voice for EV enthusiasts hunting for the best deals and hacks.

Austin's life purpose is to inspire and mobilize people toward a greener, freer future by sharing practical insights, amusing anecdotes, and unfiltered takes on innovation and personal liberty.

He firmly believes in the power of renewable energy and freedom as pillars for societal progress, valuing transparency, humor, and a healthy dose of sarcasm to shake up conventional thinking.

Austin’s strengths lie in his engaging storytelling, quick wit, and ability to turn niche topics like EV camping into relatable, viral conversations that invite broad participation.

His sarcastic tone sometimes blurs the line between humor and offense, which could alienate followers who miss the joke or take his posts too literally.

To grow his audience on X, Austin should harness his sarcastic humor into a recurring hashtag or series, encouraging followers to share their own EV life hacks or sarcastic musings, boosting engagement and community bonding around his core interests.

Despite his sharp sarcasm, Austin’s tweets about Tesla camping reveal he’s an enthusiastic early adopter who genuinely lives the lifestyle he promotes, making him a credible voice in the EV community.

It’s time I address Tesla’s charge curve and why the common defenses of it don’t hold up. On paper, Tesla’s peak charging speed is great—it’s fast enough that, in theory, you could go from 10% to 80% in under 14 minutes. That’s faster than most people take for a bathroom and snack break. Great! But in reality? A 10-80% charge takes about 30 minutes—double the time. 14 minutes barely gets you to 50%, because by the time you get there your charge speed has more than halved, and by 80% it’s crawling at speeds similar to a Chevy Bolt. And unless you’ve perfectly preconditioned the battery, you won’t even hit Tesla’s peak speeds—especially in winter. Meanwhile, other EVs manage faster charging with far less preconditioning. Defenses I’ve heard: 1.“Protecting the battery!” Then why aren’t Taycan/e-GMP batteries failing after 100k+ miles? Studies show degradation depends more on mileage, temp, and charge limits than speed. Tesla even raises battery temps for fast charging more than most EVs, which isn’t great for long-term health. 2.“Cost-saving batteries!” Maybe, but 7 years of no progress is inexcusable. Brands that didn’t even have EVs 7 years ago now charge faster. 3.“Thermal limits!” Even on CCS chargers, Teslas don’t fare better. 4.“Physics!” Taycan and e-GMP sustain 200kW+ to 80%. Surely Tesla can, too. 5.“10-50% is fine!” That’s just coping. Wouldn’t it be better to hit 80% in 15 mins for flexibility and faster trips? 6.“It’s software!” Then why hold back millions of users? 7.“Cybertruck will charge at 500kW on V4 cabinets!” Have you seen the Cybertruck’s charge curve? It barely holds 250kW to 30%. How long do you think it’ll sustain double that? 500kW is impressive, but Tesla’s poor charge curve makes it nearly meaningless. 8.“Sure, the curve is bad, but my car is ready before I am!” I get this—I feel the same way sometimes. But this is just another version of #5. “Good enough” now doesn’t mean Tesla, the company leading the EV revolution, shouldn’t have made progress after 7 years. Wanting better isn’t unreasonable. 7 years since the last update, 4 years since Battery Day, and what do we have? At best: an increased peak rate on the Cybertruck that improves charge times by a couple of minutes in perfect conditions. At worst: most Teslas still charge the same, and 4680 cells charge at a worse C-rate than 2170 cells. Tesla’s charge curve is outdated. It’s time for progress. DISCLAIMER: Before you get all hot and bothered, understand this is coming from a HUGE Tesla fan, stock owner, and Model Y owner. I love the company and my car. I’ve road-tripped thousands of miles, supercharged over 100 times, and loved every minute. Teslas are amazing vehicles I recommend to everyone, and the company is doing incredible things. It’s out of this love that I want Tesla to reassert itself on charging and show the world what their engineers are capable of. Tesla excels at road trips despite their bad charge curve because their charging network is excellent, and their cars are SO efficient—they’re leaders in miles of range recovered per minute of charging. Imagine how much better they’d be if they weren’t held back by the charge curve. Wouldn’t that be awesome? Is it unfair to want that?
