During our careers at NASA we flew in space twice together, trained together in countlless spaceflight simulations, and shared many cool adventures including an Alaskan kyaking leadership training exercise. But what I miss most is flying in the T-38 with Scooter. A former F-14 pilot who flew the scenes in the original “Topgun” movie, flying with Scooter always was an amazing experience. Often our flight training included a stopover for lunch. No more T-38 flying for us, but we can still enjoy a good lunch together. During our careers at NASA we flew in space twice together, trained together in countlless spaceflight simulations, and shared many cool adventures including an Alaskan kyaking leadership training exercise. But what I miss most is flying in the T-38 with Scooter. A former F-14 pilot who flew the scenes in the original “Topgun” movie, flying with Scooter always was an amazing experience. Often our flight training included a stopover for lunch. No more T-38 flying for us, but we can still enjoy a good lunch together.
